Someone knocked, then burst into the room.

Liam turned, startled.

It was his assistant. "Are you crazy?!" Williams shouted.

I clutched the gown tightly to my chest.

"I'm sorry, sir. I tried to stop him but—"

Then Ryan rushed in.

My eyes widened. Embarrassed, I fumbled to zip up.

"Liam," Ryan said coldly, "if her body is really the price... then I'm sorry. We can't work with you."

Liam froze.

Ryan walked up to me and quietly zipped my gown. Then he took my hand and pulled me out.

I couldn't stop smiling.

He came for me.

Outside, his phone rang. His father's voice exploded through the speaker, loud enough for me to hear every word.

"How are things, Ryan? You know tomorrow's the last day, right?"

"Why do you need this money so badly?" Ryan asked.

"Are you blind? I'm building five hospitals! I need investors. What is the use of running an empire if I do everything with my own money? You won't formalize your marriage with Anna, so I can't pull out of AGHC. Just get me an investor—why is that so hard?!"

Ryan caught his breath. "About AGHC—"

"Should I formalize the marriage on your behalf?" his father cut in sharply. "We'll send the documents for your signature. Should we just do that?"

I froze. Formalize the marriage? With Anna? No, Ryan. Don't...

"Well—"

Just then, Liam's assistant came rushing down and handed me the documents.

I hastily turned the pages and it turns out he signed everything .

I beamed

"He signed all three contracts," I said, smiling as I showed them to Ryan.

Ryan turned to the phone. "The deal was a success. Liam signed."

"That's what I'm talking about!" his father shouted, then hung up.

Ryan smiled and gently touched my cheek. "Thank you so much."

I smiled back, though deep down, I wanted a hug. Just one warm hug.

I glanced up—Liam was still watching us. I bowed slightly. He waved.

Ryan and I left. He drove silently.

I tried to catch my breath, but memories from earlier kept rushing back. My cheeks warmed. My body felt... strange. Tingly. Hungry.

I need a cold shower.

I stole a glance at Ryan. I kept stealing glances.

My eyes drifting to his chest, partly exposed beneath the black shirt. The silver necklace that lay there. His pretty lips.

I shook my head and looked away, wrapping my arms around myself.

"I almost forgot," he said. "We have a visitor at home."

"Who?"

"You'll see."

The thought that it might be Anna made my heart drop.

When we arrived, it was Daniella.

She was wearing his shirt—barely buttoned.

Ella is stunning. One of the most beautiful women I'd seen. Her light brown hair and amber eyes have the same glow. She looks both hot and innocent all at once.
