                        LOUISA'S POV

Clara and I searched the storeroom over and over again, but there was nothing.
"We'll have to search the stores of all the divisions," I said, already feeling the weight of the situation.

We searched and searched, Still, no health records. Clara's face was teary now.

"Don't give up yet. Let's check the general store," I urged.

"Sir Ryan already scheduled the surgery," she mumbled, her voice breaking.

"What?" I screamed.

"I... I didn't want to tell him about the health records," she stammered, wiping her tears.

"Why didn't you tell him?" I demanded.

"I didn't want him to worry. I really thought I could find it," she confessed.

"Come on, let's keep searching," I said, pulling her along as we rushed out.

                        CLARA'S POV

What a hopeless search. What will Sir Ryan do now? Will he blame me for not telling him?

Later that evening, Louisa and I sat facing each other at a bar. We grilled our meat ourselves, the alcohol flowing freely. Louisa, desperate to drown her sorrows on her birthday, seemed determined to get drunk, and she needed company.

I mixed up the meat and started grilling.

"Why aren't you happy on your birthday?" I asked.

She smiled faintly. "My boyfriend cheated on me," she said before taking a long drink from the bottle.

I sighed. "I just ruined Sir Ryan's life." I lifted my own bottle and emptied it.

Louisa shook her head. "He didn't even make up an excuse. He was just tired of me," she said, taking another drink.

A message from Ryan popped up on my phone. I hastily opened it.

✉️ What time is it ?
✉️ It's  9 PM, sir We're just starting.
✉️  starting? as someone who would work tomorrow, are you supposed to be out by this time?
✉️  well -
✉️ You have four minutes.

I stared at Louisa helplessly.

"I have to go... before Sir Ryan  gets  mad" I said quickly.
"Why would he even care? You're not a minor! Stay. You promised to get drunk with me tonight!" she protested drunkenly, shoving another bottle toward me.
I hesitated before laughing. "Alright. Let's get drunk!"
"Yeah!" she cheered, and we both laughed.

The music grew louder, and so did our laughter.

"Why don't you  tell Sir Ryan you like him?" Louisa said suddenly.
"What?! Like who?" I stammered, caught off guard.
"It's so obvious tho . I wonder why he hasn't noticed yet. You're so possessive of him," she teased.
"What's the point?" I said, emptying my glass. "He has a girlfriend. She's rich, gorgeous, and perfect. There's no way he'd ever look at me."
We laughed together, raising our glasses.
"Cheers to hopelessness," she declared.

"Honestly," Louisa continued, "he's a red flag anyways. He's way too hot, and women won't even let him figure out what love is. He would just break your heart " she said

I laughed quietly

                       RYAN'S POV

"Sir, why are you out here? It's cold," the cook asked.

"Nothing. I just felt a bit hot," I replied, glancing at my wristwatch.
