Avantika's Pov

I was flustered by his words. They way he understood my silence, the way he respected my choices and decisions, the way he accepted my past without even knowing it, my heart could only say 'Yes, he is genuine' but my mind was still not convinced.

Trust is to believe that someone is good and honest and will not harm you, or that something is reliable and safe. But a traumatised person like me can't trust anyone. Even though my heart was accepting him but my mind was still clouded by doubts.

"Why me?? Despite being from such a royal and powerful family, why are you willing to marry a middle class girl?" I could not stop myself from asking.

He smiled and stood from his seat. He looked at me and said.

"It's about finding a partner who is suitable for a person like me and then status doesn't matter" He then turned towards the plants and continued "Sometimes even the royals doesn't have the royalty that sometimes even a normal person can own"

His words were deep, he wasn't talking about materialistic or hierarchical royalty but traits like kindness, etiquettes, respectful etc. I was looking at his back when he turned towards me and our eyes met.

I didn't realise when he stood so close to my chair and broke the eye contact and said "I appreciate your words, Kunwar sa. But I am not just a commoner, I am a person with my own dreams and desires. I don't want to be seen as someone who is just a family member of Sisodia's or your wife"

"Avantika, I am not trying to belittle you or your dreams. In fact, I want to support you in all your endeavors, no matter how big or small. You will have your identity and no one either me or anyone can change it"

"And what about society and social expectations. Won't they find this relation imperfect then" I asked standing from the chair.

"And I don't care about it" He replied in a slow voice looking deep into my eyes "For me, relationship is built on understanding, compatibility, trust and Love not on the so-called norms of the so-called society"

His words sent a shiver in my body. These was exactly what I believed.

"What if I couldn't handle the responsibility of being your wife and daughter in law of Sisodia's"

My heart was swelled with happiness but still I asked him "Are these just words of yours just like others"

I looked into his eyes, his facial expression which shows assurance, respect for me and hope. Everyone says I am a good observer and if it is true then there aren't any flaw or fakeness in this man.

"I will prove myself worthy of you and your trust and will marry you once you will be hundred percent sure of me" He said.

My heart sank. How can people say that he is ruthless, he is the most selfless man I've ever seen or met.
