If anyone were to look down on both Huening Y/n and Choi Yeonjun, they would be be unable to deny the mirrored coincidence they were living through. Each faced with the two closest people in their lives, excluding each other of course. The apparent shock clearly plastered on their faces. For nothing than fate would bring these men into their lives at the exact same moment.

"Y/n, we have to talk", Kai looked down at her sheepishly. Who was he to demand a conversation after all he had put her through. Which is why Taehyun had accompanied him.

"It's really important y/n, it's about Yeonjun", Taehyun chipped in, taking a step forward to distract y/n from the younger boy behind him.

Y/n stared at the two with a raised eyebrow, searching for any sign of a clue in what they had to say about the elder male. Finding nothing, she sighed. "Come in"

The two men wasted no time in entering the home, seeking shelter from the unforgiving rainfall outside. Both were quick to notice Yoona sitting on the couch, face wet, eyes swollen and dark black smudges under her eyes. She looked awful, but both ignored her completely. Sitting on the couch across from y/n, Taehyun nudged Kai's arm, signalling him to initiate the conversation. But as moments passed and Taehyun noticed the tensing of the boys shoulder and the pursing of his lips, he sighed.

"So y/n, we want to say-"

"Why are to letting yourself suffer while Yeonjun is engaged to a girl who isn't nearly as amazing as you are?", Taehyun was stunned to silence as he was interrupted by Kai, whose body was still incredibly tense but now his eyes appeared glassy.

"Hey? That girl is right here?", Yoona chimed in but was immediately silenced by the collective eyes staring daggers into her.

"Do you not think you're enough? Because there is not another girl out there who can even compare to you y/n", Kai's voice was beginning to crack, causing y/n's heart to break slightly. "Kai it's not that-", y/n tried to reply but she was cut off by Kai's emotional outburst. "I know it's my fault you think you don't deserve to be loved. I left you. I, your own twin, let you alone in a broken home, with a man who didn't deserve to love you like a family should, like I should have". The room was silent, the only noticeable noise coming from the rain droplets crashing into the windows. "I wasn't there for you all those years ago y/n, so let me be here for you now. Let me help you be happy", the boy was now kneeled in front of his sister, a hand holding onto hers as a stray tear cascaded down his cheek. He had already apologised to her, they were already making amends. But the boy felt like she needed to know this once again. To show how badly he wanted her to find her happiness in Yeonjun.

"Kai you don't have to keep apologising, we were just kids", y/n placed a hand on his cheek, wiping away the tears with her thumb. "It's just... what if he doesn't feel the same? I don't think I could take that kind of pain again"

Reading the atmosphere of the room, Taehyun got up and made his way over to Yoona. He grabbed onto her wrist quite abruptly and began dragging her out the room. "What are you doing?", she hissed. "This is a moment for the two of them, I'm not having you there to ruin it".

As the two were left alone in the room, Kai pulled the girl in for a hug. Being their for her like a brother should. "I've been wrong about a lot of things y/n, but trust me, I know that Yeonjun likes you too". Kai could feel y/n smile against his shoulder and finally he felt the tension leave his body. "I love you Kai", y/n said as she pulled back to look at the missing piece of her. Kai grinned and lightly tapped her shoulder. "That's a bit sappy? Don't you think y/n?", he teased as the girl pouted. "But I love you too"

Kai stood up and reached his hand out to help his sister up, "Now let's go get your man".

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yeonjun's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beomgyu and Soobin stared at Yeonjun, looking nowhere near as soaked as Yeonjun was from his brief uncovered encounter with the rain. Soobin, being the taller of the two, held onto an umbrella, sheltering both he and Beomgyu. If Yeonjun wasn't in a rush he would laugh at how much like a kdrama the two looked.
"Guys, I don't have time to be chastised right now. I don't care about your feelings for her Beomgyu. I need to find her", Yeonjun was impatient, he didn't have time for any distractions. His head was all over the place and his heart felt like it was going to burst. He had to tell her how he felt before he went mad. "We're not here to chastise you Yeonjun", Beomgyu said softly, a sad expression on his face. "I came here to apologise... and to tell you that y/n and I broke up". Yeonjun was shocked but couldn't deny the wave of relief that washed over him. At least now he wouldn't be confessing his feelings to an already taken woman.
"But I thought she-", Yeonjun was quickly cut off by Beomgyu, who was now walking over to the boy. His hair quickly dampened by the harsh weather. "I told y/n all this earlier, but you deserve to know too".
Yeonjun stood their in silence as he listened to Beomgyu repeat the words he had said to y/n earlier. This whole time he had been used like a piece in a game of chess. This was no unfortunate betrothal, it was a carefully thought out concoction.  The whole plot was outrageous, like something out of a fairy tale. But all the older boy could think about was the parts Beomgyu mentioned about y/n.
"Oh thank god", he breathed out, a slight smile on his face. His expression confused both others, who exchanged a confused look between one another. "What?", Beomgyu retorted, hoping to figure out what was on the boys mind. "At least she doesn't hate me", Yeonjun grinned before sprinting off. Leaving a dumfounded Soobin and Beomgyu alone in the rain.
The boy ran faster than he ever had before, splashing himself with every puddle he ran through. The rain came down faster and faster, but nothing was going to stop him now. His whole had been spent doing things to appease or tease others. But in all the time he knew y/n, he seemed to discover more about who he was as a person. He never liked being a delinquent, he hated the way he treated his family, friends and even strangers. Yet it was the only thing he felt like he could do to have power over himself.
His father was so domineering that in all his life he never once thought to act in the way he wanted to. He wanted to sit in the park and watch the day go by. He wanted to sit in his garden and have a midnight picnic under the stars. He wanted to explore the world. But he couldn't picture himself doing any of this without y/n by his side. Had he gone soft? Was this truly how it felt to be in love?
He paused for a moment to get his thoughts in order, coincidently by the park bench he had found y/n by all those months ago. His hands were on his knees and his head was lowered to the ground. The way he was acting. The way he was feeling. It all made sense now. He loved y/n. He loves y/n, and he had to let her know.
Raising his head, he felt his heart skip a beat as he saw her in the distance. A rain kissed y/n, sprinting towards him, calling his name out. A voice he so desperately missed hearing. Losing all sense of reason, he began calling back out to her, moving again so he could reach her even quicker. As they got closer to one another, they slowed down before stopping a few feet apart.
"Yeonjun.... hi", she breathed out, putting a hand on her hip as she tried to regain her breath. Without thinking, Yeonjun reached out and pulled y/n into his embrace, hugging her as tightly as he could. As if she would disappear if he even slightly loosened his grip.
"...Hi.." he whispered back, his head resting atop hers.
