It had been days since that night and now you found yourself getting dressed for the Halloween ball, with the assistance of Ms. Lee and a few other woman who you were unfamiliar with. Mikyong had brought them in to ensure your makeup and hair were perfect for the highly anticipated event.
As you sat down on your bed, allowing yourself to have a moment to yourself, you couldn't help but grow excited for the night ahead of you. After you and Yeonjun had danced earlier on in the week, you couldn't wait to have a whole night dedicated to it. Originally, you hadn't thought of yourself as someone who would enjoy dancing, but thanks to Yeonjun, that all changed.
"Ready to get your dress on?", Ms. Lee asked as she held your dress in her arms.
Looking at the dress in front of you, you nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be", you grinned.
*Yeonjun's POV*
As the boy fiddled with the buttons on his shirt, he couldn't seem to take his mind off of the night ahead of him.
Of course he was excited beyond words that he and you would be attending the ball together, however, after his conversation with Soobin a few days ago, he was now aware that he would not be the only one at the ball that would know you.
"Are you okay Yeonjun? You seem distracted?"
Yeonjun turned around to see him mother standing in his bedroom doorway.
"I'm fine", he spat out quickly as he returned his gaze back onto the mirror in front of him.
Successfully managing to button up his shirt, he reached for his tie and placed the fabric underneath his collar. However, knowing that he had struggled with his shirt, it wasn't that much of a surprise to Mikyong that Yeonjun would need her help with his tie.
Chuckling slightly, Mikyong made her way over to her son and took the fabric into her hands.
"You're just like your father", she shook her head and tutted. "Neither of you can do your own tie properly"
Yeonjun let out of breathy laugh as he watched his mother adjust his tie.
"There you are", she placed a hand on his shoulder and turned to look in the mirror, a smile plastered on her face. "Now you're ready for a ball"
Raising his hand to place in on top of his mothers, Yeonjun smiled slightly.
"Thank you"
"It's a mothers job to make sure her son looks his best, no matter how old he may be. Now tell me whats bothering you"
"I really can't get anything past you, can I?"
"Nope", she grinned. "Now come on, tell your mother whats going on"
The boy nodded as he lead his mother to the couch in his bedroom and took a seat.
"Well to keep it short, dad didn't know that Beomgyu and I aren't on speaking terms and he invited his family to attend the ball tonight"
"And I take it they accepted?"
Yeonjun nodded and watched as his mother sighed whilst taking a seat next to him.
"It's only for one night Yeonie and you know you can easily avoid him, so why is this getting you so worked up?"
The boy remained silent, not certain of how to phrase his thoughts.
"Wait...", Mikyong cocked an eyebrow. "Does this have anything to do with y/n?"
Yeonjun froze. Of course it had everything to do with y/n, but he didn't want his mother to know; she'd misunderstand everything. However, Yeonjun also knew his mother far too well. No matter how hard he tried, his mother would know when he was lying.
"Mom..."
"Is it because you like her?", she questioned.
"N-no.... of course not", he quickly blurted out. "It's because he likes her!"
"Does y/n like Beomgyu?"
Yeonjun went silent.
"She does!!", Mikyong gasped. "And you're worried that she'll leave you for him!"
"WHAT? NO!", Yeonjun yelled out in defence, but, it wasn't enough to convince his mother.
"My little boy has a crush and is jealousss!", she cried out in joy as she squished her sons face.
Mortified, Yeonjun removed his mothers grip from his face and pushed her out of his room; slamming the door when she was standing in the hallway. With his back against the door, Yeonjun sat down and ran his hands through his hair. His head with clouded by thoughts. His mother had gotten it all wrong. Yeonjun only thought of you as a close friend, an extremely close one.
Beomgyu was just a bad choice for you, Yeonjun knew that. He had seen the sides of Beomgyu that you hadn't. He just wanted the best for you.
The boy knew that he could continue his list of reasons why Beomgyu was bad for you, however deep down he knew the truth and Beomgyu being a bad influence was only part of the reason.
*Y/n's POV*
You stared in complete awe and disbelief.
There was no way the girl in the mirror was you. Every hair was in the right place, make up enhanced every feature and the gown looked even better on than the day you first tried it.
Tears filled your eyes as you turned to hug Ms. Lee and the two other ladies.
"Thank you so much for helping me get ready tonight. I never thought I could look so beautiful"
"You look stunning y/n, but please don't cry. You'll ruin your makeup", Ms. Lee laughed.
"Sorry", you giggled as you carefully wiped the tears away.
"Now come on", Ms.Lee said as she linked her arm around yours "It's time to go"
You nodded, allowing Ms. Lee to take the lead and direct you to the car that was waiting for you outside.
As you made your way down the stairs and out of the front door, your jaw dropped as you saw that it wasn't a car you'd be taking, but a white limousine.
Unlinking your arm from Ms. Lee's, you covered your mouth in shock as you slowly approached your method of transportation.
"This is what we're all travelling in?"
"Not we sweetheart, you", Ms. Lee stated as walked over and opened the limo door for you.
"M-Me?! But what about the others?"
"They'll be meeting you there, now hurry up and get in. You don't want to be a cinderella, do you?"
Shaking your head you approached the limo door and carefully got into the vehicle.
If you thought the limousine looked grand from the outside, the interior was even better. White leather seats against the black velvet lining of the walls made the whole vehicle seem tens time more classy than it was. There was a minibar filled with expensive snacks and drinks that you only dreamed you'd be able to try. Finally, there was one feature that had been added for you specifically. A projecter which displayed stars across the whole interior.
"This is incredible", you mouthed and you took in your surroundings.
"You better get going now dear" Ms. Lee stated. "Have fun tonight, okay?"
You nodded before exchanging goodbyes with Ms.Lee.
As soon as the limo door was shut, the driver took off.
With no one travelling alongside you, you sat alone, lost in your own mind. Nervous thoughts filled your head. You could only wait in anticipation. Praying nothing would go wrong tonight.
