"wait.. WHAT?!"
You quickly pull your phone away from your ear as Yoona proceeded to scream from the other end of the call.
It had been a little over ten minutes since you originally called her and for the first few minutes all she did was sob like a baby. You assumed she would have been worried, but you didn't expect her to be that bad. Perhaps it was poor judgement on your behalf; you should have called her sooner.
As the screeching from your phone slowly stopped you returned the phone to your ear and smiled.
"You done?", you chuckled as you rolled onto your back and looked up at ceiling.
"Sorry, I just can't believe he's letting you live with him. I guess he's not as bad as they all say he is"
"Maybe..", you sighed.
It did seem extremely strange to you. Choi Yeonjun. The literal worst person to ever walk the hallways at your school had shown you kindness and saved you from the streets. He could have easily walked away from you. But, he didn't.
Yeonjun was usually bad news; It was common knowledge. So why was he helping a nobody like you? You wanted to say it was because he was just a misunderstood boy, but was that really the case? Truth be told, you still barely knew this boy. The only reason you accepted his offer early that morning was because his mother has a heart of gold and you hoped deep down he was just like her.
"Yoona, you can't tell Beomgyu about my location"
"What? Why? He's been just as worried as I've been", Yoona's voice was full of confusion.
"I know.. and I'm thankful for that. But please. Don't tell him anything"
"Fine.. and Kai?"
You gulped. Not once had you thought about telling Kai. After the fight between you two, you weren't sure where your relationship stood. You were angry and upset, years of bottled up feelings forced you to your breaking point. You lashed out at him, but in your eyes, he deserved it.
"Don't tell him either"
"Alright.. If that's what you want Y/n"
"Thank you Yoona", you ran a hand through your curled hair as you swung your legs over the side of your bed and sat up. "I mean it"
"I know", she spoke quietly. "I have to go, I'll call you back later"
Before you could say goodbye, Yoona had already hung up. It caught you off guard as she never ended a call without a goodbye. Perhaps she was still upset over the fact that you took so long to tell her you were safe. You should have called her sooner, but you spent hours worrying over what she'd think about your current living situation.
As you made your way across your dimly lit room, you walked over to your window and took a seat beside it. It was only 5pm and yet the world was basically engulfed in darkness. When you were younger you used to hate the early nights. But now, you've grown to love them.
As soon as your parents divorced and you and your brother were torn apart, the darkness seemed like the only comfort you had. It didn't cast the same warm glow that sun did, but you liked that. The sun was way too overrated anyways.
"What are you doing?"
You gasped and turned around to see Yeonjun's shadowed figure standing beside your bed.
"Can't you knock?", you groaned in annoyance.
"I did", he chuckled. "You didn't reply so I came in"
"Oh..", you said as you felt yourself grow embarrassed. "Well what do you want?"
