"Now Y/n, what do you get if you then square your answer?"

"576?", you said with hesitance as you looked up at your tutor.

"That's correct Y/n!", Mikyong said with glee as she wrote down your answer on the board. "You're getting better by the day!"

You felt yourself smile and you repeated the words your tutor just said to you in your head. You had been improving since you started seeing her.

"Now I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today", Mikyong announced as she placed down her piece of chalk on her desk and made her way over to you.

You nodded as you began to gather up your books and place them into your bag. Afterwards, you put on your backpack and got to your feet.

"I'll walk you out"

"Thank you", you said as you left room with Mikyong.

As the two of you walked out, you couldn't help but stare at all the items and photos that had been used to decorate the hallway. Expensive vases, original paintings and even items made with pure gold. You felt your jaw drop as you stared at each individual item. Every since you started tutoring here, you assumed the family was rich, but now you believed them to be richer than you thought.

However, out of all the items, one photo beside the front door caught your eyes. A portrait of Mikyong and her family.

Mikyong looked a lot younger in the image, as she sat beside her husband. Both Mikyong and her husband were smiling as they looked down at the infant boy sitting on both of their laps. The boy was grinning as held on to a stuffed bunny.

You felt yourself smile as you felt the happiness and warmth of this family radiating through the still image. This family was whole. Unlike your own.

"I see you've noticed my family portrait", Mikyong sighed as she stood by your side.

"You all look so happy", you whispered as you felt your smile disappear.

"We do", Mikyong smiled as she looked over at you. "Something the matter?"

You remained silent as looked up at the portrait. Your eyes widened as you felt Mikyong take your hands in her own.

"Come on, let's get you a drink and you can tell me all about, okay?"

"okay.."

-------------

"And then my mom left. After that my mom and dad argued over who would get custody of me and my twin brother for months. So to stop it, my brother and I agreed we'd do a rotation, so for 6 months I'd stay with my dad and he'd stay with my mom. Then once those 6 months were over, I'd stay at my moms and he'd stay at my dads"

"What happened after that?", Mikyong said as she took a sip of her hot drink.

"We never rotated. I've being staying at my dads since then and my brother....", you took a deep breath. "Let's just say my brother has been living a much better life than I have"

Mikyong sighed as she placed her cup down on the table and looked up at you.

"I'm so sorry for everything you've been through Y/n", she said sadly. "If there is anything I can ever do to help-"

"Thank you, but I don't want to burden anyone"

You finished of your drink before placing the empty cup beside Mikyong's and getting to your feet.

"It's getting late, I should be heading home-"

Before you could finish off your sentence, you were interrupted by the sound of someone entering the home.

"Oh that must be my son, in fact, he can give you a ride home!", Mikyong said with glee. "He's your age you know"

You felt yourself get nervous as Mikyong gave you a wink.

It seemed as if the boy was purposely taking a long time to reach you, as you waited in anticipation to see exactly who the boy was.

Mikyong groaned before taking a hold of your wrist and dragging you down the hallway. She didn't stop until you had reached the end of the hallway which opened up into the home's main entrance.

"What's taking you so long to say hi to your mother?", Mikyong tutted as she spoke to the unknown man.

You groaned in frustration as you tried to catch a glimpse of the man your tutor was talking to, however, Mikyong was blocking your view.

"Sorry, I was just thinking.."

Your eyes widened. That voice was so familiar. Extremely familiar.

"Well stop your thinking because I need to give this young lady a ride home", Mikyong announced as she pushed you out in front of her, so now you were only a few steps away from the man.

As you looked up, you gasped.

"Yeonjun?"

"Y/N?!"

The both of you stared at each other, dumbfounded.

"Oh! You two are already acquainted?", Mikyong said in shock.

"Do I really have to give her a ride home?"

"Yes! Now hurry up, I don't want her home too late!", Mikyong said before waving you a goodbye and leaving the room you were in.

You heard Yeonjun curse under his breath before he grabbed his car keys.

"Come on", he muttered before leading you outside of his house.

-------------

The car journey was extremely quiet. It seemed to be your luck that whenever you were taken home by a guy, you couldn't keep a steady conversation.

"So how long has my mom being tutoring you?", Yeonjun quickly spat out.

"Not long.. only a few weeks..", you replied.

"Cool.."

To avoid anymore awkwardness between the two of you, you decided to avert your gaze to whatever was passing by your window and that's how you remained for the rest of the journey.

------------

"Thanks for the ride!", you blurted out before quickly leaving Yeonjun's car and running into your house.

Once inside you groaned in frustration as you flung your backpack onto the ground.

"WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE HIM"

"Why did who have to be him?"

You turned around to see your twin brother Kai standing in the door frame, smiling at you.

"It's nothing, it's just my tutors son..", you said as you ran your fingers through her hair.

"So you met your tutors son, what's the problem?"

"He Choi's Yeonjun"
