You stared back at the two men before you, continously moving your gaze between them both.

It was clear as day how tense the two males were in the moment and you couldn't figure out why.

The three of you remained silent. You were unable to bring yourself to speak whilst the two elders seemed more interested in glaring intently at one another, as if they were trying to communicate.

Just as you were about to blurt out a random excuse to escape the awkward moment, Yeonjun lifted placed his other hand onto yours and held on tightly.

"Y/n!", he hastily said. "My mother and father would really like to see you!"

"They do?", you asked which resulted Yeonjun nodding. "Then it'd be rude of me to keep them waiting any longer"

"But y/n, I really must speak to you-"

"Sorry Beomgyu, I'll speak to you later?"

The way in which you asked the question seemed as if Beomgyu didn't have a choice. He watched sadly as Yeonjun lead you through the crowd, leaving himself all alone.

"Good job Beomgyu", the boy muttered to himself before returning to his family.

-----

"What's your father like Yeonjun?", you asked nervously as you neared your friends family.

"He's... An interesting person"

"In a good way or a bad way?"

"It depends", he breathed out.

Before you could speak again, Yeonjun halted his movements resulting in you doing the same. You were confused until your eyes fell onto the two figures standing before you. One of which was very familiar: Mikyong. She was beaming brightly at you; the exact opposite reaction the male beside her had gotten from your presence.

The man was rather tall, definitely above 6ft, and had dark chocolate hair with eyes that matched. Then there was his facial structure which eerily matched Yeonjun's. This must be the man whom you'd only seen in the Choi family portraits: Yeonjun's father.

"Y/n dear, you look stunning"

"Thank you Mikyong, without your help I would never have been able to fit in at a ball like this", you smiled.

You turned to look at the man, whose expression was still neutral. You gulped.

"So you must be Huening Y/n?"

"Yes sir"

"I've heard a lot about you"

"All good things I hope", you laughed nervously, but stopped when Mr Choi's tensed up.

"Yeonjun", he raised his voices volume.

Yeonjun's grip on her hand tightened.

"Yes father?", his voice waa almost a whisper.

"Leave this girl with your mother, we have to talk"

Yeonjun didn't hesitate. He let go of your hand and mouthed you a "sorry" before following his father out of sight.

You frowned.

"Will they be long?", you asked Mikyong.

"I'm not sure, truth be told I'm not sure what he's even wanting to talk to Yeonjun for"

"Oh... Okay", you were a little deflated with Yeonjun's disappearance.

You had been looking forward to spending the night with Yeonjun, especially after your dance lesson with him in the garden early that week. Ever since that night you couldn't help but look at him in a different light. Since the first day you began living alongside the male, he was showing you a different side of himself. He was no longer seeming like a violent bad boy.

"Hey...", Mikyong placed a hand on your shoulder and smiled slightly. "Why don't we go over and talk to the other Choi's, I know you're friends with their daughter"

You nodded and returned the smile.

You followed Mikyong's lead this time and surprisingly it was a lot easier to make your way across the ballroom floor. It seemed as if Mikyong was well respected in this community. Well, whatever the reason was, you were just thankful to walk through the crowds without someone stepping on or bumping into you.

When you finally reached the other Choi family, you immediately took notice of Yoona. However, she was talking to some boy she'd met at the ball and you really didn't want to get yourself involved into whatever was going on between the two of them and with Mikyong talking to Yoona's mothet, that only left one person: Beomgyu.

So, taking a deep breath, you made your way over to the boy.

"Hi Beomgyu"

Your presence definitely caught the boy off guard as he jumped back and hit his head off of the wall.

"Oh my god.. Are you okay-"

"Y-Y/n, hi! I didn't think I'd see you so soon"

"Yeonjun's dad dragged him off somewhere so Mikyong thought It'd be a good idea to socialise with your family"

"No surprise there", he muttered under his breath. "So.. You decided to talk to me?"

"Yeah.. I hope that's okay, Yoona was a little preoccupied", you said quietly as you turned to look in your friends direction.

Beomgyu groaned as he looked at his sister who practically pin against the man.

"Anyways, you said you had something you needed to tell me earlier", you reminded the older boy. "What was it?"

Beomgyu's cheeked were dusted with a light shade of red as he raised his hand and placed the back of it against his mouth.

"I... Let's talk outside"

"Okay, lead the way"

Within a few seconds, Beomgyu had wrapped his hand around your wrist and was leading you away from the ocean of people and towards the large door which opened into the building's garden.

When you were finally greeted by the crisp autumn air, Beomgyu let go of your wrist and took a few steps forward, leaning against the balcony railing which looked over the acres of greenery.

"Y/n, I don't want to drag this out", his voice sounded serious.

"Then you don't have to", you added, making your way over to Beomgyu.

"Fine.. Then here it goes"

Beomgyu placed both hands onto your cheeks and leaned in. Your eyes widened and you noticed how close the boy was to your face.

"I like you y/n", he breathed out.

You were left with no time to react. As soon as those words left him, his lips were planted on to yours.

The night was so cold, and yet his lips were so warm.
