*Yeonjun's POV*

"So when is your date arriving", Soobin teased as he elbowed his older friends side.

"Funny", Yeonjun responded as he continued looking up and down the road.

You still hadn't arrived at the ball's location and it was due to start any minute now. Everyone else was waiting inside, whilst Soobin and Yeonjun stood at the bottom of the step's outside of the venue.

"Maybe we should just head back inside?", Soobin suggested. "She'll show up at some point"

Yeonjun took one finally glance from side to side before sighing.

"You're right, It's not fair to keep everyone waiting"

The two males turned to face the building and began to make there way up the dozen stairs.

"Who knows, maybe she'll pull a Cinderella", Soobin laughed.

Yeonjun chuckled slightly to the younger's joke. However, he couldn't help but feel sort of upset that you weren't going to be walking into the ball by his side.

----------

"Where's y/n?", Mikyong asked as she caught sight of her son walk towards her on his own.

Yeonjun just shrugged as he took his positioned by his mother's side.

"You insisted on inviting her Mikyong and she's late? She's making us look bad", Yeonjun's father grunted.

Mikyong placed a hand on her husbands arm and smiled weakly.

Yeonjun rolled his eyes as she caught sight of Beomgyu and his family standing across the ballroom.

The two locked eyes for a brief second before quickly averting their eyes away from each other. Although there was a lot of bad blood between the two male's, Yeonjun was glad that they had a mutual agreement and would rather avoid one another than have an altercation at such an important event.

It was at this point that Yeonjun's fathers boss took to the stage and cleared his throat into the microphone, grabbing the attention of everyone in the room.

"Good evening everyone!", the voice announced to the ballroom. "I am very happy to welcome you to the 25th annual Halloween ball!"

The ballroom was loud with the sound of applause and a few whistles from some of Yeonjun's fathers coworkers.

"I'm pleased to say that this is the biggest turnout that we've had since we started this tradition, so thank you for all for your support this year"

After this, Yeonjun tuned out.

There was something about the older man's monotone voice that was so unappealing to him. So, he decided to just count how many tiles there was on the floor beneath him.

It was a few minutes later, although it felt like a lifetime, that Yeonjun was brought back to reality by the sound of everyone around his applauding.

"Now everyone, let's enjoy to-", Yeonjun was in the process of raising his hands to clap when the old man was silenced by the sound of the large wooden doors, at the top of the staircase behind him, open.

*Y/n's POV*

"Are we almost there?!?", you said with a sense of urgency.

"We should be there any second now miss", the driver stated.

You nodded as you leaned back in your seat and began to play with the edge of your dress. It had been way over ten minutes since you were due to arrive and enter the ball , but the driver took a wrong turn and added extra time into your journey.

The only thing you could think about was how bad this would make Yeonjun and his family look. They had invited you as their guest and you couldn't even fulfil the simple task of showing up on time.

So, when you did finally arrive at the venue, you didn't even wait for the driver to open your door, despite him insisting,  and ran as fast as you could up to the steps and towards the door.

"Please don't let them notice me", you begged as you pushed on the door.

Instantly you were greeted by the bright lights of the ballroom. It blinded your vision for  few moments so you were unable to see that when you entered the room, it caught the eyes of every person in the ballroom.

As you regained your sight, your eyes widened in horror and you looked down the stairs to see everyone looking at you. A few people gasped at the sight of you, which you instantly registered as a bad thing. A girl showing up late to one of the most exclusive and extravagant balls.

You cursed under your breath as you opted to take the side staircase down, as to not draw anymore attention to yourself. Slipping into the crowd, you allowed yourself to get lost within the crowds of people at the older man behind the microphone continued his speech.

"As I was saying", he cleared his throat. "Let's all enjoy tonight"

The crowd applauded once again as you mentally face palmed yourself for being so stupid.

*Yeonjun's POV*

As he moved his eyes to the opening door, they widened as he caught sight of you.

He had never seen you properly dressed up in formal wear and in this moment, he was glad to a member of the crowd. You were the centre of attention. Standing at the top of the staircase above the rest of the room. You looked beautiful.

As he stared at your form, making it's way down the stairs and joining the crowd, he failed to notice Soobin make his over to him.

"Told you she'd pull a Cinderella", he chuckled. "And looks like you're pulling a Prince Charming"

"Shut up Soobin", Yeonjun muttered as he turned his eyes to look at Soobin after losing you in the crowd.

Soobin raised his hands in defence but the humorous smile never leaving face. However, as soon as he shot a glance across the ballroom floor, his smile vanished.

"Seem's like you're not the only Prince Charming at this ball"

Confused, Yeonjun turned to look out onto the floor. His lips tightened as he caught Beomgyu making his way through the groups of people, heading towards the direction you had went.

"Cover for me", Yeonjun said with a stern tone before he rushed over to find you before Beomgyu could.

As he forced his way through the groups of people, he darted his eyes from side to side, hoping to catch sight of you. From the side of his eye he could see Beomgyu, a few feet away, heading in the same direction as himself.

It suddenly felt like a competition as the two men rushed to reach the finish line: you.

He felt hopeless, until he finally caught sight of you. Dress shining in the chandeliers light. He felt smile creep onto his face as he closed in on you. As soon as you were within touching distance, Yeonjun reached out his hand and took a hold of your wrist.

Much to his surprise, Beomgyu had reached you at the same time as he did and was currently mirroring his own actions.

*Y/n's POV*

As you walked through the large sum of people, you searched frantically for the sight of Yeonjun or Mikyong. So, when you felt two hands grab onto to your wrists, you were quick to turn around and look at the culprit.

As soon as you saw Yeonjun, you immediately felt as ease.

However, when you noticed the other hand on you was not also Yeonjun's, but Beomgyu's, you felt completely confused and flustered.

"Uh.. h-hey guys", you stuttered with an awkward smile.
