You daydream a lot

I rush down the hallway, dodging all the kids walking to the next class. I'm supposed to meet Jax in the library, and I totally lost track of time. Which, is pretty normal. Anyway, he didn't tell me what he was doing, but he sounded serious when he said it.

I finally reach the library and burst through the doors. I look around for Jax, but he's nowhere to be seen. I decide to text him, and that's when I see it.

Meet me at 1:00

Hans Christian Andersen, I'm 2 hours early! I must've read it wrong! Well this sucks. I decide to stay here and look for a book to read (even though I'll probably end up daydreaming) because I'm bored. I settle on a book called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I think Maxine told me about it once.

I sit down at a table and start to read. I sit there for a while, and eventually I get bored and start to daydream. I wonder what's been up with Jocelyn and AG lately. They've been pretty close lately. *Mind gasp* what if they're secretly dating? They'd make a good couple, though I would never tell Jocelyn that. Come to think of it, Jack and Hayley have been pretty close lately too! Oh my goblins, my friend group is definitely evolving. Jack and Hayley, Kayla and Ollie, Jocelyn and AG. I guess Jax, me, and Maxine are the only ones that aren't crushing on anyone. But Maxine has been talking about that fairy in her Potion's class for a while.

Oh, and I think Jax might like Genevieve. But why does it hurt so much to think about that? It's not like I have a crush on him or anything. How weird-

"Boo!" I jump in my seat and quickly jab my elbow backwards, then I turn to see who it was and who I just elbowed.

"Owwww," Jax groans on the floor.

"Sorry!" I apologize, getting out of my seat, "Reflexes." I give him a hand, and he sits down in the chair next to me.

"Grimm, you're awfully strong for a person that spends most of their time daydreaming," he claims once he's settled.

"Hey, I don't daydream all the time!" I exclaim, only to be shushed by a person at another table. Jax raises an eyebrow.

"Then, what were you doing before I came?" he questions me, and I blush.

"Daydreaming," I mumble. He laughs. Why does it feel so good to make him laugh?

"Well, anyway, I wanted to ask you if you had a partner for the history project Professor Wolfington assigned to us," he tells me once he's calmed down.

"No, I don't," I respond, and we start working on it. That's the way it is with us. We don't have to talk to understand each other. In this case, we both silently agreed that we would be partners, but that also might've been common sense because why would he ask me if he already had a partner? Wow, I never knew it was possible to ramble in my mind but here we are.

"Gilly?" I hear Jax say, and I snap back to attention.

"Yeah?"

"You were just zoning out really hard," he starts, then smiles, "were you daydreaming again?"

"Makes sense," Says Ollie, strolling up to us along side Kayla, "she is always daydreaming." I roll my eyes.

"I might daydream a lot," I begin, but I'm cut off by Kayla.

"Aha! So you admit it," she smirks. I glare at her.

"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, I may daydream a lot, but I don't do it all the time," I tell them.

"Sureeee," Jax teases, stretching out the word.

"Okay Mr. Prince," I glare at him. He puts his hand up to his chest in fake offense.
