Chapter 2

There's this discovery that I would like to share with others. Napansin ko kasi na mas maraming magaganda ang nabibingwit ng mga average looking men kaysa sa gwapo na nabibingwit ng mga average looking women. Not that I believe that boys who are considered plain by the society cannot have pretty girls by their side or being average is considered to be derogatory, it is just a hunch that it's because the norm was always the man would court and do the first move to the woman.

Maybe that's also the reason why despite not being the prettiest among the group, ako rin ang kadalasan mapansin ng mga lalaki kaysa sa mga kaibigan ko. It's an observation that I couldn't share with my friends as I believe that it shouldn't be a big deal.

Lotte was intimidating to look at; with her branded purse and her always newly painted nails, boys who cannot handle high maintenance girls would stray away. Si Kelsey naman ay clingy tingnan para sa kanila dahil futuristic siya at madalas ay tungkol na sa pamilya ang topic.

For them, even if I wasn't the prettiest flower among all, I was the easy one to pick. But just because I was the easiest doesn't mean I don't have thorns. The idea doesn't bother me because I don't have high expectations for men. Not when my father himself was already the lowest of the low. Wala na talaga akong standard para maging point of comparison.
