The doorbell chimed, signing that someone was at the door. Jennie and her mom knew exactly who it was. "Jennie, you can go fix your room, I'll get the door," Her mom went to the door and swung it open to meet a familiar face.

"Welcome, Taehyung-ah!" She let him inside with a warm smile. "Hey, Mom! It's nice to be here again!" He too greeted her happily.

"Jennie is upstairs," she informed as he nodded to it and left the living room. "Oh, also, Taehyung. Take this with you, Jennie prepared some snacks herself," she handed him a tray with various snacks.

"Thank you!" He said and carefully carried it upstairs.

"Such a good son he is. His parents must be proud" she spoke to herself, wiping her hands with her apron.

Jennie had earlier told her that he had comforted her when she was feeling sad about something, though not the complete matter. Jennie's mother had started to trust him enough to leave her daughter alone with him and know he wouldn't do anything out of the way.

Taehyung casually opened the door with the snacks tray in one hand, his bag hanging off his shoulder.

"Hey," he shot a quick greeting to her and set the tray on the table nearby. He let his bag slip off his arm and slump on the chair.

"Hi, you're early" Jennie turned to him, setting down some papers she was holding. "Yeah, I thought I'd crash earlier, have a little chat, since we don't have much to do with the math" he smirked secretly.

"Mhm? That's cool. Sit down" she pointed to her bed, to which he gladly did. He patted beside him, signalling for her to sit beside him.

"Just a minute, let me put these away" she gazed at Taehyung for a few seconds, observing his clothes and similar.

Taehyung was busy playing a game in his phone and didn't notice her gaze. Jennie felt it was her chance to look at him and daydream to her heart's content.

He wore an oversized black tee, and casual trousers. It looked comfortable. A little left to Jennie, stood a mirror where she could see herself. She, too, wore comfortable fits; a deep grey tank top and sweatpants.

The corner of her lip turned, while she thought of Taehyung in her room. She achieved what a girl would've always wanted, to hang out with her crush with no second thoughts.

She turned back to her work of putting away papers and books. Taehyung, who had been waiting for her to look away, knew it was his turn to stare at her as she does her thing.

All he could see was her back, and her shiny hair flowing over her shoulder flawlessly. He could clearly recognise her outline, up from her head to the very bottom of her feet.

Girlfriend like her is a win for life, he thought to himself.

"So?" She seated herself beside him, with a reasonable distance between. As much as they sat far away from each other, both of them wanted to close the space between them; craving each other's warm touch.

"Should we finish this first? The revision?" She spoke first. Taehyung nodded in response and sat at the table, getting ready.

"Okay, cool. Lemme try your snacks. I wanna taste em," he remembered and stretched out his hand, picking of them up in his hand. Instinctually, he smelled it before he put it in his mouth.

After chewing for a few times, his face showed pure content. "I didn't know you could cook?" He mumbled still chewing. "You can say I'm pretty good at it," she lifted an eyebrow and smiled.

"Let's not waste more time and finish this first," she too sat before the table and opened the book.

After about 30 to 40 minutes, they had accomplished the revision, hence taking a break before he left to go back home.

"Yeah that was one good sign that I have learnt everything well. I'm so tired aah" Taehyung stretched his arms out and slouched back in the chair.

Taehyung placed himself back on the bed, where he had been sitting before. He waited a bit before starting another conversation.

"Don't be weirded out, but I really like how your hair smells," Taehyung randomly opined.

"Yeah? Thanks haha" she played it coolly, but inside her mind, she screamed the loudest.

But how does he know how my hair smells?

"Can I... Can I smell it?" He looked at her with his innocent eyes, praying she would reply positively.

"I mean... Why not?" She was surprised at her own answer, but having admired by your crush was a great feeling wasn't it?

Taehyung slowly tapped next to him, asking her to come closer. She noticed and slowly pushed herself in his direction, Taehyung also scooted a bit to her side.

Taehyung slightly shifted so that his body was facing to her; he placed his arms next to hers and leaned in to her neck ever so gently.

She sat still, her eyes unknowingly shutting, waiting to feel his face near the crook of her neck. He slowly advanced closer, leaning to her neck, where her hair rested.

Still not satisfied with the proximity, he moved further towards, his knee touching hers now. He brought up his fingers to her hair, scooping a few strands between them.

Just a few inches away from touching his face, the scent of her shampoo entered Tae's senses, mesmerizing him every moment that he stayed.

His mind kept swaying back and forth, as if the scent had sent him to a high. His objective was not to inhale the scent of her hair anymore.

His hands unconsciously moved her hair out of the way behind her ear so that his lips could meet her skin in a short while.

"Jennie!?" Her mom's voice reached the room, breaking the moment. Both their eyes shot open, bringing them back to reality. They sat up straight, away from each other.

What were we about to do?

With no answer in availability at the moment, Jennie left first. "Let me go see what's up there," she gave a quick answer to him and exited the room.

"Jennie! Please come soon!" Her mom shrieked again, sounding troubled. "Wait, I'll come with you," Taehyung immediately followed behind.

Running down the stairs in a fast pace, they were in the living room in no time. Jennie's mom held her phone in her hand, tears slowly dripping off her face. She stood with th support of the couch, barely had energy in her body now.

"It's Leah..." Her mom gasped between her cries. "What... What happened to Leah?! Where is she?!" Jennie shivered, her knees going weak with every heartbeat.

"Careful, Kim," Taehyung who also felt the tense in their voice held her shoulder so she wouldn't fall.

Her mom quietly passed the phone to Jennie. She plopped onto the couch beside her mom. Her hands shaking and sweating already, she held the phone to her ear.

"Hello? Leah?" Her voice had started to shake a bit already. The fear in it could be sensed easily.

"Hey, um" Andrew spoke instead of Leah.

"Where's Leah? Is she okay?"

"We are sorry for hiding this, but..."

"Just tell me what it is Andrew, don't scare me!"

"Leah had a kidney failure recently. The other one was fine, but now it seems like it won't last for long without the dialysis..."

"Oh heavens... No, no, no... She can't leave us like this!" Jennie could barely bring out words from her throat now.

The ground below her feet had seemed to have collapsed completely. The void of sorrow had begun to swallow her whole.

"Please hang in there for a little more..." She sobbed.
