Easter Carrots
Ingredients
-1 pint strawberries, washed and dried, leave the tops on
-14 oz. white chocolate
-orange food coloring (oil based)
What to do:
1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler until smooth and creamy. If you do not have a double boiler, you can melt the chocolate in microwave for a minute, stir it, put back in the microwave and continue microwaving for 10 second intervals, or until they are smooth and creamy. Stir after each interval.
2. Add the food coloring to the melted chocolate one drop at a time until you reach the correct shade. Stir the chocolate thoroughly to evenly distribute the color. Avoid adding too much food coloring, which could give the chocolate a bitter taste. Do NOT use liquid food coloring. It will not work.
3. Dip the strawberries in the chocolate, holding the top, and covering as much of the strawberry as possible.
4. Dry the strawberries on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. *When they are almost dry, run a piece of dental floss or a knife through the top to make it look like a carrot*
5. Let dry completely
And voila! You have Easter carrots now!
