Getting Motivated To Work Out
☆Find Inspiration☆
Take some time before actually working out to set out something to inspire you. Make a pinterest board for workout quotes and pictures of people that have worked out.
You can even make a set with workout clothes and quotes.
Don’t be unrealistic though! There’s a difference between pictures of strong and healthy athletes and sickly skinny tumblr girls.
☆Think Long-term☆
A lot of times you might set your goal too high when wanting a ‘quick results’ workout.
I hate it when people say they want to work off 10 pounds a week! That’s SO hard to do!
Just think of how you have time and don’t need to get rid of so much weight in a week. If you lose a pound each week, then that’s 52 pounds in a year. It’s realistic and can bring you from 200 pounds (which can be unhealthy) to 148 pounds. Such a massive difference.
☆Start Small☆
When beginning to work out don’t try anything to hard. If you begin with an hour long jog you might become tired of the workout super-fast.
Start off with taking a walk each day. It’ll burn calories, but it isn’t too challenging.
Work your way towards tougher workouts to avoid quitting.
☆Find Time☆
You don’t have the excuse that you don’t have time to work out! Even if you’re a busy person, a 5 minute workout each day can actually get rid of a few pounds after a week.
If you ‘don’t have time’ at least do something simple each day. Plank for a minute before you go to sleep, do crunches during commercial breaks of your favorite shows, etc.
☆Dress The Part☆
There’s nothing that works better inspiring people to work out than cute workout clothes. Especially for us girls :3
Go to nike (or places like tj-maxx for a cheaper alternative) and pick us a cute t-shirt, running sports, and a sports bra.
You can even invest in a good gym bag or make one yourself.
☆Bribe Yourself☆
Give yourself something to work towards besides a toned body.
For example save all your money, and when you’ve lost a certain amount of weight spend it all on new better fitting clothes! Or only allow yourself to drink water until you’ve gone for a run. Then treat yourself with an Arizona Tea.
☆Don’t do It Alone☆
Recruit a friend and/or family member to help you out!
They can either join you in your workout or just nag you until you actually start working out ;) either one works wonders.
☆Music☆
Make a playlist for when you’re working out! Next time you hear those songs you might be reminded you need to do some crunches and it’ll help you remember to keep it up.
Not to mention it keeps workouts a lot less boring.
☆Keep a Record☆
For every minute you work out, write it down! Keep track of weight loss and even what you eat as well. If you do this then you’ll start actually seeing your results and want to work even harder.
You can do this on a word document, in a notebook, through pictures of yourself, or even a collection of sets on polyvore. Anything goes.
