Hobbyism is the best way to get through grief. ~Cole Sprouse

Where do I begin with how this story came to be written? Well, it was through grief. I lost my cat, my binge watching buddy, very suddenly. And the last show we watched together was Riverdale. In my grief I wanted to write something very dark and nihilistic. So, I set out to write something within the Riverdale fandom (a gangsters vs mobsters - Jones vs Lodges mixed with Dark Academia). While compiling my inspiration, YouTube kept suggesting clips from this show called "Zack and Cody". Now, I was not of the demographic for that show when it was on. In fact, I had no idea it existed until I started writing this. So I was like "Nah, I'm not interested" but YouTube wouldn't let up. So... I did one google search. I read one synopsis. And I saw that there was a timeline of Cody and Bailey's relationship. And one thing stuck out to me the most. They seemed to only hug. I have friends who were fans of the show (I later found out just how BIG it was), and when asked about the hugging, they told me "It was a very Disney show".

Cool.

Better yet, my brain wouldn't let me write my dark and twisted Riverdale story and told me that if I didn't write a story about Zack and Cody I would never write again. Well, that's just about death to a writer. So I said "I'm going to write no more than 3000 words about why they only hug, delete it, and then write what I want." ...I wrote 10k in that first sitting. Then it became my NaNoWriMo project. I wrote 50k in 18 days. This story, in total, is over 100k words.

Yeah...

Better yet, I didn't actually watch the show until I was about 75% of the way through writing this. For reasons that will become apparent very quickly, Bermuda Triangle Cody is my favorite Cody. He's a dick in the best way. Surprisingly, I got a lot right but I also got a lot wrong. And while I might have corrected a few things I got wrong (for continuity sake) I stand by what I didn't change. The story is completed. I wanted to finish it before posting it, and honestly, I almost didn't. But, with talking to mutuals they seemed pretty excited for it so I thought "why not?"

I hope you enjoy this interpretation!
