"Photo album on the counter,
Your cheeks were turning red..."

Beckett

"Mom, just show me," I pleaded, crossing my arms in frustration as I followed her around the kitchen like a child.

"Beckett Rylin, I said no."

"Please? I don't know what shade you're talking about."

"I already told you, it's lilac. That's light purple, go look it up," she scoffed.

This was the third time I've asked her to show me Bailey's dress, and she still refused. When I'd asked Bailey, she told me she was under strict instructions to not tell me, per my mother's request I assumed.

"You're gonna thank me when you see her in it, Beckett."

"I know," I groaned.

Because I knew Bailey could wear a potato sack and still be the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

"Now go find your sister and make sure she's not wrinkling her dress," she said, shooing me out of the kitchen. I sighed for dramatic effect as I left, and I heard her laugh echo through my cousin's house.

"Delilah!" I shouted, watching as her running around outside with Beau came to a halt.

"What?"

"Come here."

I watched as she sighed, just as dramatically as I did moments ago, and I let out a laugh.

Like brother, like sister.

"What, bubba?"

"Don't ruin your dress," I said, squatting down to her level to smooth it out. "Let's go find Caleb, yeah?"

"Okay," she said, reaching her hands out to fix the collar of my white button down shirt. "There, now Bailey will think you look handsome."

"What?" I scoffed, laughing at her bluntness. "Are you saying I wasn't handsome before?"

"You were, but now you're even more handsome," she smiled, giggling when I tickled her.

"Okay, okay," I said, standing up and holding my hand out. "Let's go."

"This is gender discrimination. You can't help her pick out a dress, and then not help out your own blood!" Caleb shouted, and when we rounded the corner I found he was talking to his mom.

Tell her, pal.

Then tell her sister too.

"Oh hush, I showed you the color of it, you don't need any more details," Aunt Jenna scoffed.

Huh, like sister, like sister too I guess.

"You're in the doghouse too?" I joked, and Caleb sighed.

"Apparent-fucking-ly."

"Caleb!" Aunt Jenna shouted, pointing at Delilah who still held my hand. I laughed as Caleb crouched down to Delilah's level and apologized to her.

"Looking gorgeous as always, did you pick this dress?" He asked her.

"I did!" She beamed, and then reached out to adjust his collar like she had mine. "Why do boys not know how to fix these things?"

"Why bother when we have you to do it for us?" I said, and she laughed before running off in the direction of the kitchen.

"Bailey and Grandpa Matt on their way?" Caleb asked, standing straight again.
