After 7 Years

"Jeon Jungkook!"

Jin held the hands of his  almost 5 year old twins, Jia and Jiahn tightly as he heard his husband's name being called on stage.He eagerly looked at the stage and saw Jungkook slowly heading towards the stage.

"Tae!! he called and Taehyung who was standing beside him immediately picked up Jia, who was struggling on her tip toes trying to see the stage properly.

Jin lifted Jiahn, who was rubbing her eyes in sleepiness. "Look, baby, there's Dad" Come on, clap for him!!" he encouraged. Hearing the word "Dad" Jiahn's sleepiness vanished immediately.She was a daddy's girl through and through, while Jia was more attached to Jin.

Jin watched Jungkook collect his degree from the university president with teary eyes and a proud smile. Jungkook's excited bambi eyes and bunny smile were visible even from a distance, the traits both his kids had inherited.. Despite being identical twins they both had very distinctive personalities and Jin was glad atleast one of them was like him..because it was almost scary how much alike Jia and Jungkook was already.

As Jeonghan and Heejin filmed his special day on the phone, Jin's thoughts went back to the last four years. It was a big decision to let Jungkook go back to university, leaving their young twins at home..especially while Jungkook was planning to stay home and look after the kids but Jin insisted on this ..convinced him that he will manage everything and that it was better late than never. Despite the struggles, Jungkook managed to complete his dream of getting a university degree. He had set aside his architecture dreams for now and chose a field that complemented his past certifications and career, opting for a degree in food and nutrition so he can enter the health and fitness business.

Jin recalled the late nights and early mornings, juggling the twins needs with supporting Jungkook through his studies. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but they had faced them together..drawing strength from their love and commitment to each other..and everything lead them to this day where Jin could see the proud smile on his husband's face.

As Jungkook waved happily from the stage, Jin felt a surge of pride and joy. The journey had been tough, but it was worth it to see Jungkook's dreams coming true. And he felt content, knowing he had slowly righted the wrongs he had unknowingly inflicted in his past life.

The twins clapped enthusiastically, their faces lit up seeing their dad happily waving at them. After the ceremony, they gathered outside the auditorium waiting for Jungkook and soon he approached them with his smile brighter than ever. He scooped Jiahn into his arms and she giggled, hugging him tightly.

"Congratulations, Dad " she said softly. She was very calm and introverted, unlike Jia, who squirmed out of Jin's hold and jumped into Jungkook's arms. Thankfully, he was strong enough to carry both of his children together.

"You did it, Jeon!!" Jin said, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm so proud of you." He smiled as his eyes filled with tears.

Jungkook set his daughters down and leaned in to kiss Jin softly. "I couldn't have done it without you!" he whispered. "Thank you for believing in me... and for everything!" He smiled, and Jin hugged him again, sniffling.

Taehyung joined them, clapping Jungkook on the back. "Congratulations, man! You deserve this."

After deciding to take things slow that day, Jin and Jungkook dated for about a year before moving back in together. During this time, they focused on rebuilding their relationship, learning more about each other and making sure they were truly ready for the next steps. They underwent couples counseling as Jungkook suggested, which helped them address their guilt and ensure they were on the same page emotionally. Although there wasn't much to mend besides their shared guilt over the loss of Hayoon, the counseling sessions gave them the confidence and tools to strengthen their bond.
