Chapter 23: Abyssal Witch of the West

Elorias was fiddling with something... I walked towards her and asked,

"Eloria, ever since we've traveled... I noticed you always had that mask. I thought it was just for show... but.."

She turns around, "It's... nothing."

Hyde was explaining in the back, "Listen well. Frenara... is someone you must never come across..."

Jasper shivers, "What's worse than Orenda, Chigou and Melchior?"

Lucy groans, "That witch, her island is a bit special."

"Huh?"

Hyde nods, "Abyss island has a kingdom... Where many people live. The time is different, remember?"

August asks, "Does this mean... Frenara... has a whole kingdom behind her?"

Hyde sighs, "It's not uncommon. A lot of these islands were created as a safe space for us Nyx's Children to live. Frenara wanted to live the life of a queen... Although I believe she was already royalty when she started."

Alina asks, "How come no one will question her? Surely people would try to leave..."

Hyde looks down, "Well... You can hardly call it a kingdom... She is a dictator, and due to the nature of Nyx's curse... No residents are allowed to leave."

"Just like Hecate Village, and the Magica Clan."

"Plus... The Abyss Knights..."

Jasper snaps his finger, "I know them! The Kingdom of Abgrund, in the history books. A city, filled with people and culture."

Rayth raises an eyebrow, "Filled with people and culture? But is it ruled by a dictator?"

"Frenara wasn't... No, none of the twelve was born evil... and I believe Frenara genuinely loved her own kingdom. But the kingdom fell into ruins when the noble faction made due of the poor as slaves. Which resulted in a revolution... Even if Frenara wasn't involved... She was persecuted..."

"Just like the War of Separation huh..." August sighed.

"But that's not the end... Frenara was tortured every night... Until she met Nyx... Where she turns the tide of the kingdom... bringing it back to its original state... But she came out more ruthless than ever."

As we hear this story we come near Abyss Island... The outside was covered with dark clouds and thunderstorms. As August takes the helm and shouts,

"Hold on tight!"

The storm suddenly got more violent as the waves clashed with our ship. I tried stabilizing the ship, and we landed on solid ground... We all walked out and we saw a spectacle. The dark clouds and the heavy storm outside, was nothing as within the island was a peaceful calming feeling. The road had street lamps to guide their way to the main city, and from a distance the place was filled with light.

Lucy sniffs the area, "Suspicious..."

Hyde nods, "I never have been to Abyss Island but... This is much different than I had in mind."

Eloria walked first, "Let's move, and kill that bitch."

All nine of us walked towards the kingdom when we were approached by someone. She had long brown hair with a black knight armor, it was too big on her but...

"Name yourself!"

August walked up, "I am August Armbrust, Emperor of the Satrus Empire."

"Satrus... Empire? Never heard of that place."
