Reminisce 8: Zephyr's Upbringing

Zephyr is playful and definitely enjoys life to the fullest. During his time as a human he mostly spent his time with the Clans of Heian. Zephyr, despite being mostly playful, is also very honorable, but also full of himself. He gives people chances, believing he can best them. Many of the Childrens of Nyx state their dislike of Zephyr, although many do love his playful nature.

His phantom ability to master his sword skill in an instant gives him an edge in the world of swordsmanship. He was mostly famous for his conquest of Heian, and then moving along to Nocturne, Nacht and Centena. His ability doesn't stop there as he can copy other swordplays, and instantly master them. Bringing them to their full potential, possibly going beyond the limitations of a human.

Zephyr was known to be the best sword master of his generation. It is still regarded as the best in the entire world. Nina states he is her role model.

But Zephyr had a humble origin. Born under the slums of the kingdom in Nacht, he was living as a working child slave. In this time the term rich/nobles and poor didn't exist, but they still existed. [For this story I will call them nobles and poor]. Zephyr found his passion in swordsmanship, during one of the many trips he has to the knights academy. He found himself entranced in the people who practiced swordsmanship. Zephyr reached out, but was always blocked by the barriers of his peasant status. Suddenly, although it wasn't recorded in history [Revolutionary of the Slums] occurred. This event was swept under the rug, due to the royals fearing another possibility of a new revolution, although the reason why Emperor Theodore advocated on the abolishment of the nobles were due to this event, and that will would be passed down to Emperor Rowan ending the nobles.

During the revolution of the slums, many slaves were killed, and equally many nobles were killed. In the end no slave could overthrow the four great houses and end their conquest. Zephyr was one of the people who were forced to be in the front line, as he too was being judged by the slums. Yet he was saved by the young prince Albert Kingsley, son to the king, William Edward Kingsley. He saved many people of both noble and slums, one of which was Zephyr. Zephyr then picked up his sword and went on a rampage, helping Albert. After the end of the revolution Albert took Zephyr in. As they both attended the academy together they became friends. Albert foreshadows of the [War of Conquest]. In the academy, Zephyr awakened his new phantom and quickly took over becoming the top of his class, although he would only match equally with Albert. Despite the class differences Albert and Zephyr were good friends. They both graduated at the top of his class, and Zephyr was once invited to join the Legend Knights, but he refused and acted as Albert's personal knight.

Eventually William passed away in a mysterious way, and Albert took over as king. The rumors were that the King, Knight duo were unstoppable. During skirmishes or battles, whenever the king and his knight were alongside the army, they would always come out on top. During this time both Albert and Zephyr were in their thirties, Albert had a wife and a young child, a daughter. Zephyr however never found someone he truly loved, and acted as a guard for the daughter as well, as Zephyr acted like an uncle to her.

Until they faced a new danger, a mysterious young man by the name of Gaius Le Blank, a ruthless ruler of his small nation, started a new war against the kingdom. Gaius came from Heian origin, but moved to Nacht, as his clans disowned him due to his reckless behavior. Borrowing his last name from his mother's side. He was determined to take over the continent, and prove the elders of Heian wrong.

Gaius was called many names, [The Thousand Warrior], [the ruthless dictator], [Death of Heian] and so on... But the most prominent one during this time was, [The Second William]. William was one of a kind king. He had charisma, and a strong leadership, and he was exceptionally strong. Gaius was said to rival the strength of William, although when Gaius was alive, William was already dead. During one of the battles Albert and Zephyr were deployed to the field and fought against Gaius.
