A loud clanging woke us up making me let out a groan along with my brother. I sat up rubbing my eyes to try and wake up. The lights came on revealing Four in the door way.
"I want everyone in The Pit. Two minutes."
I smiled looking at my brother.
"Race you."
I swung my legs over the cot catching him off guard running to the bathroom. I wasn't shy as I got ready, even pulling my hair up on the toilet. I didn't need to brush it, I figured it was going to get knoted from training today anyways. I washed my hands before my brother even stumbled in there. He was partially dressed making me run quickly to my cot pulling on a burgundy tank top, black jeans and the running shoes they gave us. My brother was pulling on a shirt and we were both running out the door together. I laughed shoving him away to get me a small lead. I rounded the corner hearing his footsteps behind me. When we reached the pit. I pulled my hands up in victor with a laugh. Eric rose a brow at us as my brother bent over catching his breath while I had a huge smile on my lips.
"You have an offle lot of energy for the morning."
I straightened looking at the leader.
"No just competitive."
He smiled back at me
"Ok well tone it down."
I frowned furrowing my eyebrows. Footsteps took me away from the groachy man. Four sat with him waiting for the group to join us. I took my spot next to peter waiting. Four steped foward so he was centered in front of us.
"There are two stages of training. The first is physical. Push your bodies to the breaking point and you'll master the methods of combat. The second is mental. Again, breaking point. You'll face your worst fears and conquer them unless they get you first. You'll be trained sparately from the Dauntless-born but you'll be ranked together..."
We turned to where Four pointed to the Dauntless-born before focusing our attention back on him.
"...After initations, ranking will determine what jobs you mobe into. Leadership, guarding the fence or keeping the Factionless from killing each other."
Eric spoke making us all shift our attention to him.
"The ranking will also determine who gets cut."
I looked at my brother confused.
"Cut?"
He looked down at me, no worry on his face.
"You will be fine."
I looked down at my feet.
"I hope so."
"You will be."
I looked back at him but his attention was back on Eric who had approached Tia.
"At the end of each stage of training the lowest-ranking initiates will be leaving us."
Al looked at the man confused.
"To do what?"
I scuffed.
"He means we will be factionless."
The group turned to me making me shrug my shoulders. He nodded at me before continuing.
"There's no going home to your families, so like Candor said, you'd live factionaless."
I cleared my throat making him look at me.
"I am not Candor, thank you."
He smiled falsly at me.
"Ok Amity."
