I couldn't sleep. I kept my eyes on the ceiling as closing my eyes lead to nightmares I didn't feel like dealing with again. A yone escaped my mouth. I turned looking at the time on the monitor. It glowed as it showed my heart beet, blood pressure and about every other general read needed. I hated that thing. I squinted until I found the small time in the bottom left corner. I sigh realizing sleep was not something I would be getting. I grabbed my pillow throwing at my brother.

"Jeeze, what the hell, Skylar!?"

I sat up looking at my brother who was staring over at me.

"It's time, get ready, dork."

He grumbled but moved, sliping on the uniform they dropped off for him last night. I moved grabbing the white t-shirt and white trousers and white jacket they gave me. Like normal, I was the subject therefore I was forced in white. I hated white. I led us down to the main doors of the Erudite compound. An Erudite drive was already there waiting for us. He smiled at us as we approached him. He opened the door for us, making sure to close it after we entered the vehicles. Peter looked out the windows where guards stood scanning the area before getting into the other cars behind us.

"Is this how you are always treated?"

I shook my head.

"Only after they found out I was the answer to the Divergent problem."

Peter leaned back in the chair in disbelief.

"Holy fuck. You are fucking royalty."

I sghed leaning back, closing my eyes.

"You have no idea."

I turn to look out the windo. Flanks of soldiers were streaming from the trains we passed in Abnegation. I look away guilt swarming me as their movements are sinced like thousands of robotic soldiers. All this possible because of my blood. When we arrive to the Dautless compount Felix, one of the Dautless leaders, is there to open the door. I furrowed my brows shocked to not see a familiar face.

"Where are the others?"

Felix smiled at me, helping Peter and me out of the car.

"Eric is on sight with the rest, Max and Jeanine went out, there was a report of a Divergent. We were instructed to set bring you both in the compound and set you up for spinal fluid drain."

I cringed at the thought of the large needle going into the back of my neck. Of course they didn't bring the Divergent serum, why do that when you have the resource on sight. I grumbled as I moved forward but Peter was stopped as he tried to follow.

"What the hell!? I am with her."

Felix glared at the boy.

"You are to go to your post. With a Divergent coming into the compound, the others will come after them."

My brother removed his arm from Felix's grip but went to his post. I lost sight of him as he rounded the corner to a different door to get near the entrance of the compound. Felix turned to me.

"Follow me."

I kept my mouth shut as I followed the bald man as we entered the building. We went down a familiar twist and turns of the halls until we came to the room I was in during first stage of testing. Like last time, Erudite blue sat at every computer, watching monitors of soldiers making sure vitals and controls were stable. Felix put a gentle hand on my upper back, to guide me away from the screen filled room. I was back in the isolated room with the one way mirror overlooking the lab. A chair once again was sat in the middle with the familiar monitors and needles out, prepped and ready. A women stood there prepping needles. She nodded to the chair. I hesitated before going and taking a seat on the uncomfortable chair. She hooked up my IV, sending the numbing serum making me dread what is to come.

"You ready?"

I nodded and closed my eyes as she turned grabbing the large needle. She moved behind me lining the needle with my neck feeding it into where my spinal cord sat. I felt the familiar pull as spinal fluid was drained. I opened my eyes as the doors squeaked open. Jeanine came in with dauntless flanking behind her. She came to my room where the door was propped open. She smiled at me in which I did not meet.

"Any serum made?"

I didn't answer as my eyes were on Four being escorted in. I felt the familiar tired feeling flank through me but the shock was more apparent, same with Four as he caust sight of my sleepy form.

"What are you doing to her?"

Jeanine turned to look at Four who was frozen staring at me and the tube attached to my neck. Jeanine approached the man.

"Skylar is a rare case. Did you know her aptitude test changed four times. When she was first brought to us when she was 10 she showed to be Amity. By the point we knew that she would be likely to change. So we had her come back when she was 12, she tested for Abnegation. Continuously her test changed year after year. After some testing we discovered that her brain forms blocks adapting to stressful situations. By using this to our knowledge, we found that mixing her blood with a few chemicals aloud us to control the general mind, but a Divergent, was able to withhold control from the serum. So we tried different fluids until we found that her spinal fluid aloud use to form a serum to have the Divergents follow orders. Quite impressive huh?"

Four didn't seem to listen as he kept his eyes on me.

"Does she know what you use her for?"

Jeanine pursed her lips nodding.

"She quite does. Did you know, her friend, Kyle, the one who attacked her, as he was trying to report a Divergent, he ended up reporting himself. We took him in from Factionless and ran some test finding he, himself was Divergent. We of course removed him after our tests. Divergents are unpredictable and he is a prime reason why we need to control your kind."

A man in blue came over handing Jeanine a gun with a serum loaded and ready. She took the gun as Four was restrained by Dauntless soliders pressing it against his neck. He reacted reaching up to his neck when he was released, feeling where she injected him. Jeanine looked at the Dauntless soldiers bordly.

"Put him in the chair, make sure to strap him in. The serum takes a bit to react right away."

Two Dauntless soldiers came over, grabing the fighting man before dragging him away from view. Jeaning comes into my room looking over my charts and monitor. She put a hand on my shoulder a concern look on her face. One I knew was fake from my time being trapped in the Erudite compound. I didn't matter, her precious serum is what mattered.

"How are you feeling?"

I looked at her tired with narrowed eyes.

"What do you think?"

She smiled down.

"Nothing a good nap and granola bar can't fix."

I sigh with a flare of my nostrils. Annoyed to be stuck in a chair again. The monitor beeped signalling the end of the treatment. An Erudite came in, removing the long needle making me close my eyes relieved to have that thing out of my neck.

"I heard you needed a granola bar."

I blinked my eyes open, finding Eric holding a granola bar making me laugh. I reach out grabbing the bar from his hand. Eric laughs at me before moving forward to kiss my forehead.

"I have to head back out, but I figured I would stop by and say hi."

After finishing the snack bar, I fluttered my eyes back closed with a smile on my face.

"Stay safe."

I heard his feet shuffle away as I drifted to much needed sleep.
