In normal Four fashion, he woke us later then normal as some of us were actually up but he still decided to use his metal to clang the room into shock. I glared over at the leader.
"You know, turning on a light, a shout would do."
Four found me looking at him from Tris's and Christina's cot. He gave me a sarcastic grin before making his announcement.
"In the pit, 5 minutes."
I exchanged a look with Tia.
"What about Tris, she still isn't back yet."
Tia shrugged.
"I would imagine our leader will have something to say about that. Speaking of the Devil, what did he want yesterday."
I pursed my lips.
"Jeanine found out about my...incident and decided she wanted to do a once over to make sure my treatments wouldn't be messed up."
Tia's eyebrows pulled together.
"Treatments, you are still going to those."
I smile at her.
"I have to. It is either go or die, so I much rather stay breathing."
She laughed at my response shaking her head.
"Was that why Max pulled you the other day."
I once again pursed my lips nodding.
"Yeah, Jeanine tried a new treatment which took a lot out of me. I was ashamed of how I was when I returned..."
"So you choose to lie about it."
I nodded slowly feeling the guilt build in me as I told the lie that has been building for years.
"You know you can trust us. Tris included, we are your friends."
I smiled sadly.
"I was embarrassed and as I love Tris and Will, I don't want them looking at me like a weirdo, they weren't at Candor when I started to grow ill."
Tia shook her head.
"They wouldn't do that. Why don't you tell them later today, explain everything. I think they would appreciate that"
I felt my heart drop.
"Uh...maybe, see if I work up the nerve then, but now we should go to the Pit before we are late."
I moved from the cot to standing. Tia followed me walking with me down the halls. I kept a hand on my side wincing at the slight pain in my side. The pain killers I got were great leaving nothing but some discomfort when I move or take in a deep breath. I will say I am in no shape to fight any one but I was good enogh to do what was needed. But the bruising along my side was nasty. Gross. Dark purple and green with some yellow sinting the edges. I got a few winces this morning from others as I changed for the day.
"Hurry, initiated, no need to take your time. We gave you more then we normally do."
Tia exchanged a look as we walked quickly to where the trainers stood in the Pit. He looked over the faces in the crowd. He looked over at the board then back at us. Then more footsteps were heard as the Dauntless board ran over to join us. They stood with us making us more confused. The other instructor, Lauren took a spot next to Four crossing her arms over her chest.
"Where is the stiff?"
I looked at Eric who was looking over the group. I cleared my throat.
"She is uhhh...still in the infirmary recovering."
