Gun fire caused my eyes to shoot open. Erudite came scrambling into my small room.
"We need to leave. Get you out of here."
I nodded understanding as the man helped me into a standing position. The man watched as more Dauntless flanked in. He closed the door.
"Get down."
I didn't argue as I moved to under the desk in the room. The man pulled out a gun keeping it trained out the two way mirror just as Tris walked in. I see the Erudite working at the simulation panels but her eyes were on Four. He was hooked up trapped in his own simulation. She moves forward stupidly freeing the man. Erudite walk toward the girl.
"He can't hear you..."
Jeanine walks to stand by Four who just threw Tris to the floor.
"...Amazing isn't it? Everything we think of that makes up a person, thoughts, emotions, histore...All wiped away by Chemistry."
Tris eyes were still focused in on the instructor, not believing what the women was saying.
"Four."
Jeanine shook her head at the poor girl.
"He's gone, and we're all safer for it."
Tris looks at the women, anger clear on her face.
"Safer? How are we safer?"
I sigh leaning against the desk as the Erudite in the room dropped his aim coming over to sit on top of the desk I was leaning again. Jeanine stepped forward circling the girl.
"The brilliance of the faction system is that conformity to the faction removes that threat of anyone exercising their independent will. Divergents threatens that system. Don't get me wrong, there's a certain beauty in your resistance. Your defiance of categorization. But it's a beauty we can't afford."
Realisation dawned on Tris as she was getting no were with Four or the women mocking the women. Jeanine turns to a fellow Erudite being a nod. He brought out a tablet senidn orders to the man under the Divergent serum. Four stalks forward to the girl as she panics seeing his approaching form. The deadpan look on the man as nothing registered other than the orders directed at him through the tablet.
"Four, it's me. It's me. Please, Four, look at me. Look at me."
Four continuous his approach grabbing the girl by her throat, slamming her to the wall. Tris tries to beat the man but he is stronger than she is keeping the firm hold on the gril. She manages to get away from the wall and climb up him to wrap her legs around and bring them both to the ground. She tries to get up and run away from the larger man but Four is quick. He grabbed the back of her jacket, bring her back around and throw her into one of the metal table. Tris falls to the ground with a groan. Four stalks forward, throwing punches towards the girl but Tris was ducking and blocking punch after punch. She brought him to a hold letting out a desperate shout to communicate with the controlled man. I shook my head disappointed that the stif wasn't figuring out she wasn't going to get through him. Not while that serum was pumping through his body.
"Four! It's me!"
Four groans and elbows the girl, slamming her to the ground where he starts to throw punches towards the girl again. Tris brought her knee up making contact with the instructors head sending him tumbling back. She scrambles away but it is Four she was fighting. He locks her arms, hiting her. He reaches grabbing ahold of her pony tail and hits her across the face senidning her to the floor. Tris rolls like a discarded ragged doll. Tris grabs a nearby gun. She innitially points it at the approaching man. I watch as the weapon shakes in her hand.
