Damon's POV

I had come across Maryanne in passing when I noticed an ad with her photo and gig details on a lamp post in the High Street. It stopped me dead in my tracks upon realising this could be a potential support act for the tour we were due to have later in the year possibly starting December for The Great Escape. With luck the show was on that same night at Notting Hill Arts Club.

The show had already started when Dave and I finished our cigarettes and stubbed them out, quietly shuffled to the back of the venue amidst a laughing audience who she'd obviously just shared a joke with, having the full advantage of seeing what our potential candidate would be like with stage presence, charisma etc. Immediately I was stunned, magnetic, so engaging and what a beauty I had to add - though that part I didn't vocalise to Dave. Had we found the one?

One thing's for sure though, WOW......she was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen. "I think we're onto something here, what do you think?", Dave nudged my side seeming to sense that I had pretty much frozen on the spot. Clearing my now dry throat the only thing I could do was grunt in agreement nodding my head slowly. Christ, she had a presence to rival Justine's and that was saying something...she then performed a song that was unknown to me but apparently one of her own compositions. Very nice vocals and my god did it sound amazing with her acoustic guitar. I looked back at Dave once again and nodded faster in agreement this time. The set was coming to an end and some fans had clocked that Dave and I were there as there was a lot of whispers and giggling happening in front of me. "Let's start heading out before the lights fully come on", and we were followed out the entrance as I saw Maryanne begin to pack her belongings.
We hot-footed it down the street not too far from my apartment making sure we'd lost the following girls.

We certainly had exciting things to discuss with Graham and Alex, then management too...would she be the right choice?
