30 - Done & Dusted

Maryanne's POV

I felt the bed sink beside me and I felt Damon stroke my hand...

"Oh Dames, what a mess," I said between sniffs.

"I know darling, but I promise you this will be over soon. I've arranged a meeting with management today at 1pm in London so we'll go straight there from here," he said in the most soothing way I've ever heard from him.

"Okay...I love you Dames....I'll admit that this is a lot to handle but I really think we can get through this together and do the best for our child...", "absolutely darling", he smiled giving me a big hug from the side.

"Let's get our stuff together and say bye to mum, dad and Jess. I've explained to them the plan already," Damon explained.

Walking down the stairs in a slightly lifted spirit from what they had seen of us about an hour ago, we called everyone into the hall and said out goodbyes. Damon explained it was best they go and stay in the front room and let us leave ourselves so they aren't disturbed by the paps outside. "Love you all thanks you for being so accommodating, we'll do something again soon," I said with deep appreciation to the Albarn's. "Our pleasure, remember you are one of the family now," Hazel smiled, her features insanely similar to Damon's..beautiful.

"Here we fucking go...don't react to them just keep walking to the car...wankers" Damon huffed as he walked ahead of me trying to cover the side of his face with a hat. I did the same with my oversized hoodie. I wasn't showing yet but didn't want them to catch any decent photo of me.

At management offices - London

Sitting around the conference table, Damon and Maryanne greeted both Blur's manager and Maryanne's manager, it made sense that they all met together.

It was acknowledged by the two management teams that despite their disappointment at how the situation was dealt with and now Justine and Damon was no longer an item, they did think this would allow Damon and Maryanne's public image to develop and be portrayed to the public as mature and it's great to get everyone excited about the impending birth.

As part of an agreement for there to be maternity and paternity leave suitable for the two, it was proposed and decided that the birth would be celebrated with a magazine spread containing an exclusive interview and photos to keep the hype up surrounding them.

This sort of thing was not what Damon or Maryanne are about but they felt the PR team knew what they were doing and signed on the contract sealing the deal.

Now they could concentrate on enjoying all the stages of the pregnancy.
