It was the perfect night, Maryanne and Damon stayed up until the early hours sharing stories with Damon's loved ones who generously welcomed her into their home and treated her like one of their own. They laughed, they cried and they swapped stories about their childhoods, however no judgment was cast upon Maryanne's troubled upbringing and she felt deeply touched that they would even be this supportive given that they hadn't known her too long but from what Damon had poured out to them about her, his parents knew she was a good one. Now with the baby news they couldn't be happier for their darling son.

Maryanne and Damon climbed into bed in his childhood bedroom and talked in hushed whispered about the future and theories about what their baby would be like.

Eventually they drifted off to sleep filled with good food and good dreams, Maryanne tucked into Damon's side.

The next morning

//

They wake in the morning to a frantic knock on the door by Hazel who was in her dressing down.

Damon's POV

Mare and I were woken up by mum's knocking urgently on the bed room door.

"Damon darling, there's flaming paparazzi outside the house! They've practically set up camp at the end of the path! Non-stop calls too."

"Oh fuck....why? What could they be doing here??" I was fuming. What was supposed to be a fun-filled time spent with family was turning into a circus.

"Well, your dad got back with the morning paper earlier and you're both front page!" mum was close to tears with stress. She reached through the door and  threw me the newspaper not fully coming into the room as she could see Mare and I were semi-nude.

I caught the paper and saw the front cover with the headline:

CAUGHT AND CARRYING

I must have audibly gasped....Bloody cheek! 'Caught and carrying'obviously referring to us both being caught together and Mare carrying our child.

The image accompanying the piece was of Mare and I hugging mum and dad then walking into the house! They must've powerful photo lense because I could swear there was no one about. How creepy, frustrating and disturbing.

Oh no....this means that management know about the pregnancy and the Blur boys too...gutted.

I passed the paper to Mare then made sure all the curtains were closed and stomped downstairs to check out the voicemails left on the answer phone.

Several messages were left, from various family members

Several messages were left, from various family members... from Alex, and the boys all in a mess of questions being spouted but mostly saying 'Get in there son, she's a keeper' and not so positive ones from management who were furious that we hadn't informed them but that Justine had drunkenly told paparazzi who had bombarded her as she left the awards that night she confronted us, in turn this lead the media to send their papz on our trail to Colchester.... Shit. Well, I then called them back first to arrange a meeting with Mare to see what the next best steps are to make.

I came back upstairs to see an emotional Mare who was still sitting on the bed but now in tears with her head in her hands.

Fuck.
