24 - Saffron

The chat with Damon was a huge weight off my shoulders and I could think what the next steps are now.

There are things I want to complete before maternity period starts and so the first to tick off my list was working with Saffron. I found her number that she'd written down I had tucked it into my diary.

Dialling in her number the ring tone came through and I waited half expecting her to maybe not answer.

"Hello?" Came Saffron's distinctive voice. "Hey Saffron it's Maryanne", I responded and I heard an excited breath down the other end. "Heyyy Maryanne how lovely to hear from you. How is everything going since the party?"
"There has been a lot happening since then but nothing that I'm not grateful for....I'm pregnant..." I said with the volume of my voice tailing off towards the end. "Oh shit no way, congrats darling!" She congratulated me.

"It's Damon's," I said carefully wanting to gauge her reaction. "Oh..Oh! As in Damon Albarn? Please be careful honey....I'm close friends with Justine and I thought they were still together? I promise not to tell anyone or even Justine but as I'm not sure how savvy you are to the fame game please handle this without the media catching wind otherwise it will be a nightmare and for your sake I'm telling you'll be HOUNDED! As long as this is kept as low-key as possible you'll make it through unscathed," Saffron advised. "I really appreciate that, thank you Saff...I bloody scared about Justine's reaction and as she's your friend I'll tread carefully... and a lot of things to consider in every area but little gems of advice like those I'll happily take on because wow...yeah...wow", I thanked Saffron.

"Any time hun, but yes take your time I know you're keen to do a collab with me but take your time and please let's meet whenever you're ready", she laughed.

"Thanks Saff, I'll give you a shout soon".
