beautiful thinking; a well mind

Athena stares at him, surprised by his sudden gesture. "Are you sure?" she asks, her voice filled with uncertainty.Bellamy doesn't reply; instead, he simply grabs her hand and starts walking, pulling her along with him. Athena stumbles behind him, following his lead.

"I'm sorry about what happened earlier, Freckles. She'll come around," Athena says, breaking the silence between them.

"How did you?" "How did i what?" the brunette asks confused.

"Get around so quick over the fact that i shot the chancellor" Bellamy mumbles back, his gaze focused ahead.

"I understand why you did it, and I'm completely behind your reasons. You've sacrificed so much for your sister all your life, and you had to do what you had to do to get down here. I don't blame you for it, and I'm sure your mother wouldn't either," Athena explains, her words sincere.

Bellamy stops in his tracks and turns around and looks at her. Athena stares back nervous " Oh i'm sorry i probably shouldn't have mentioned your mother i was just-"

Bellamy's eyes soften, and he looks at her with gratitude. "Thank you," he says, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. Athena is taken aback by his response, feeling a sense of warmth spread through her at his words.

"Oh," Athena says, surprised by his reaction. "You're welcome," she mumbles, unsure of how to respond to his gratitude.

As they walk side by side, the sound of rustling leaves fills the air, punctuating the silence between them. Athena briefly considers asking Bellamy about their destination and the purpose of their journey, but she hesitates, not wanting to disrupt the fragile moment of understanding between them.

After a while, Bellamy breaks the silence with a question. "Why were you arrested?" he asks, his voice cutting through the quiet.

"What?" Athena says, caught off guard by the unexpected question.

"I said, why were you—" Bellamy starts again, but Athena interrupts him.

"No, I heard you the first time," she replies, her voice slightly tense as she struggles with how much to reveal. She falls silent, grappling with the decision of whether now is the right moment to disclose her past.

"I'm sorry, Freckles. I know we just had a bonding moment, but I'm not ready to tell yet," Athena responds with a grin, trying to lighten the mood.

"Too bad," Bellamy says, smiling back, understanding her reluctance to share.

Finally, they reach their destination. "Oh my god, is there someone inside?" Athena rushes to the machine, her concern evident in her voice.

"She's bleeding, oh no," Athena murmurs as she approaches the girl. "Oh, thank god, she's breathing."

While Athena is preoccupied with checking on the girl, Bellamy moves slowly to the other side of the machine and grabs something. When Athena turns around, she sees him holding an object.

"What is that?" she asks curiously, her eyes narrowing as she studies the item in his hand.

"Nothing to worry about," Bellamy replies cryptically as he tosses it into the river, his actions leaving Athena feeling unsettled and curious about what he's hiding.

"Um, if you're tossing it into a river, I'm gonna assume it was something relevant," Athena states, her eyes fixed on the river's surface.

"Guess you'll never know," Bellamy replies nonchalantly, his tone cryptic.

"Yeah, I guess I won't," Athena mutters, eyeing him suspiciously, her curiosity piqued but her frustration growing.

"Help me here, we need to get her to camp," Athena tells Bellamy, gesturing toward the injured girl."No, I'm good," Bellamy responds, turning away from Athena's plea.

"What are you talking about?" Athena spins around, locking eyes with the older boy.

"I'm heading back to camp. Care to join me?" Bellamy asks, his tone indifferent.

"No? We need to help her!" Athena says, growing frustrated as Bellamy turns to leave.

"Bellamy, BELLAMY!" she yells after him, but he continues on his way, leaving Athena feeling disappointed and alone. Well, there goes their bonding moment, she thinks , realizing that their newfound understanding may have been short-lived.

"What is wrong with him?" Athena mumbles to herself, her thoughts still swirling with confusion and frustration as she looks back at the injured girl. She lightly pokes the girl, hoping for a response, but she remains unconscious.

Suddenly, Athena hears footsteps approaching. "Oh, shit," she whispers under her breath, her heart pounding in her chest. Fear grips her as she scans the area, searching desperately for a hiding place. With a quick decision, she dashes behind the machine, crouching down and peeking out from the side to see who is coming.

"Clarke!" Athena yells excitedly as she sees the girl arrive, relieved that it's not a grounder.

Clarke exclaims, her voice filled with relief as she spotted Athena. " You scared me."

"I'm so glad it's you," Athena says, running to Clarke and enveloping her in a tight hug.Clarke lightly pats Athena's back, returning the hug. "Yeah, so am I," she replies.

Both of them release their embrace, and Clarke walks up to the machine, opening the door. "Oh, my God!" Clarke exclaims as she takes a look inside.

"I know," Athena replies, her concern for the injured girl evident in her voice. "She's hurt, and I tried to poke her to wake her up, but she wouldn't—" Athena's words trail off as she watches the injured girl emerge from the machine.

"Oh, hello, you're awake," Athena greets the girl, her voice tinged with relief.

"Aaah. I dreamed it would smell like this. Is this rain?" the girl exclaims, her eyes wide with wonder as she takes in the surrounding landscape.

Smiling, Clarke replies, "Yes, it is," sharing in the girl's sense of awe and appreciation for the natural beauty around them.

" Welcome home."
