a feeling of fear or anxiety about something that may happen

Athena turned her walkie-talkie off with trembling hands, her face pale with shock. She stared back at Raven, who looked equally stunned. "Tell me this didn't just happen," Athena whispered, her voice barely audible.

She had just accidentally admitted her feelings, not just to Bellamy, but in front of everyone.

Raven blinked, trying to process what had just occurred. She finally found her voice and tried to lighten the mood. "Well, I guess you got it out of the way," she said with a weak smile.

Athena's eyes widened in panic. "Got it out of the way? Raven, I basically broadcasted my feelings to the entire camp! I can't face him now. I'm just going to go outside and let a grounder take me down because there's no way I'm talking to Bellamy after this."

Raven reached out and grabbed Athena's arm firmly, her expression turning serious. "Hey, don't be dramatic. Running away isn't going to solve anything."

Athena pulled her arm free, her heart racing. "You don't understand, Raven. This is Bellamy. I can't just face him after what I said in front of everyone!"

Raven took a deep breath, knowing she needed to calm her friend down. "Athena, listen to me. You need to own this. Pretending it didn't happen will just make things worse. Besides, you might be surprised at how Bellamy reacts."

Athena bit her lip, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. "What if he doesn't feel the same way? What if he just laughs it off, or worse, pities me?"

Before Raven could respond, the door to the room opened, and Jasper stepped in, looking around with curiosity. "You needed me?" he asked as he took in the scene before him.

"We need you to splice a wire," Raven said, her voice steadying.

Jasper nodded. "I can do that," he said as he made his way down the ladder. Athena, eager for any distraction, followed him.

Raven began shouting information from above. "Current flows to the electromagnet. That opens the poppet valve. Rockets fire."

Athena watched Jasper work, standing close by in case he needed help. Jasper couldn't resist teasing her. "So, you like Bellamy," he smirked.

Athena rolled her eyes and lightly hit him on the shoulder. "Oh, shut up, Jasper."

Jasper chuckled as he continued his work. "Hey, it's no big deal. Everyone's got feelings."

Athena sighed, trying to focus on the task at hand. "Yeah, well, mine just went public in the worst way possible."

Jasper gave her a sympathetic look. "Things have a way of working out. Just give it time."

Athena appreciated his attempt at reassurance but felt far from convinced. She watched as Jasper carefully selected a wire and prepared to graft it on.

"Okay, got the good wire ready to graft on. What's next?" Jasper asked.

"Raven?" he shouted again, needing further instructions. "Raven?" Athena called, sharing a concerned look with Jasper as she climbed up the ladder. She saw her friend on the ground, passed out.

She ran over, checking Raven's pulse. "She's alive," Athena breathed out in relief, "but her heart rate seems slow. Jasper, can you finish it on your own?"

"I'll try," the boy replied, determination in his voice as he went back down the ladder.

Athena grabbed a cloth and soaked it in water, placing it on Raven's forehead to help with the fever. She turned her walkie-talkie back on, needing to hear what was happening outside.

"They've broken through! There's hundreds of them! They're heading for the gate! Game over, man!" she heard someone scream through the walkie-talkie. Athena's blood ran cold as she listened to the panic in the voice.

Scared, Athena stood up, walking back and forth as she continued listening to the frightened screams of her friends. "We're so dead," she mumbled, fear gripping her heart.

She could hear the gunshots and the screams of the grounders and then she heard silence.

Confused and scared, Athena walked over to the door of the dropship, pushing the curtains aside. Her heart pounded in her chest as she saw everyone gathered outside, their eyes fixed on the sky.

She followed their gaze, and there, descending through the clouds, was a massive ship. The metallic behemoth gleamed in the sunlight, its descent both awe-inspiring and terrifying.

"It looks like the Ark has sent down another ship," she thought to herself, trying to make sense of the scene unfolding before her.

"Is that from the Ark?" Fox's voice broke through her thoughts.Clarke, standing a few feet away, responded with a mix of awe and dread in her voice. "That is the Ark."

Athena's mouth fell open in disbelief as she continued to stare at the descending ship. The reality of the situation began to sink in, and a cold shiver ran down her spine. Just then, the serene moment was shattered by the piercing screams of the Grounders.

Athena looked at the crowd, her eyes scanning the sea of faces as teenagers hurriedly entered the dropship. Anxiety gnawed at her insides as she searched for one person in particular.

"Clarke," she called, her voice trembling slightly as she approached the blonde.

Clarke turned to face her, concern etched on her features. "Where is Bellamy?" Athena asked, her eyes darting around frantically.

The boy was nowhere to be seen, and worry gnawed at her insides. Under normal circumstances, she would have avoided him at all costs, especially after her embarrassing confession to him. But now, with their lives hanging in the balance, she couldn't ignore her concern for him.

"I don't know," Clarke admitted, her attention diverted as she spotted Finn in the crowd. Relief washed over her face as she ran to him, enveloping him in a tight hug.

Athena's heart sank as she continued to scan the faces around her, but Bellamy was still nowhere to be found.

Her thoughts raced, imagining all the terrible possibilities. What if he was hurt? Or worse?

She made her way back into the dropship, her mind a whirlwind of worry and fear.

"He's got to be okay," she murmured, attempting to reassure herself even though doubt lingered in her heart.

As Athena entered the dropship, she could see nearly every single delinquent crowded inside, their faces a mix of fear and exhaustion.

The nagging feeling in her chest intensified, suggesting that the battle against the Grounders was not going in their favor. She made her way over to Raven, who was still unconscious, and sat down beside her.

The minutes ticked by in agonizing silence until Clarke finally entered, holding a needle in her hand. She hurried over to Athena and Raven.

"This will slow down the bleeding," Clarke explained as she carefully inserted the needle into Raven's arm. Athena watched, her worry for Bellamy momentarily pushed aside by concern for her friend.

"Where did you get that?" Athena began to ask, but her question was cut short by the sudden commotion at the entrance.

Miller burst into the room, his voice ringing with urgency.

"Clarke, they're taking down the gate."
