something that can make you forget grief or suffering

Athena paced back and forth in front of the tent housing the radio, her steps measured but restless. She couldn't bring herself to talk to Jaha, not even for a moment.Every time she looked at Jaha, memories flooded her mind, reminding her of the agony she endured during her years of captivity.

After what felt like forever, Bellamy emerged from the tent with Clarke. Athena, her eyes wide with anticipation, bounced over to the boy. "Well?" she asked eagerly. "What did he say?"

"He pardoned me," Bellamy announced, his grin stretching from ear to ear. Athena squealed with delight, wrapping him in a tight hug. "That's incredible!" she exclaimed, her heart swelling with happiness for him. He wrapped his arms around the girls waist, a warm smile on his face.

After releasing Bellamy from her embrace, Athena turned to Clarke. " I assume you told Jaha about his-" Athena pointed with her finger at Bellamy's chest " accomplishments in this camp" This had been Athena's Idea. Clarke nodded smiling. Clarke nodded, her smile confirming Athena's assumption. "I'll go check on Finn," Clarke announced, bidding farewell to the two friends.

Bellamy and Athena observed the other delinquents around the campsite, taking in the lively scene. Some were gathered around the fire, while others were enjoying their meals or engaging in playful activities. Despite the late hour, the camp was buzzing with energy.

"Earth would be pretty fun if we didn't have to be scared of being killed every second of the day," Athena remarked, her voice tinged with wistfulness.

"What's life without a little adventure, right?" Bellamy replied, his tone playful as he echoed her sentiment.

"I'll be heading off to bed now," Athena announced with a loud yawn, feeling the exhaustion settle in. "If you need anything, you can always wake me up," Bellamy offered, his concern evident in his voice, still lingering from their recent ordeal in the forest.

Athena couldn't resist a teasing remark. "You sure I won't be disturbing you and your girlfriends?" she quipped, referring to Bellamy's reputation as a ladies' man.

Bellamy rolled his eyes, but his tone was sincere as he reassured her, "Funny. But no, I mean it. I'm here for you."

"Thanks, Bellamy," Athena said gratefully as she made her way to her tent. As soon as she laid her head on the pillow, she drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

NEXT DAY

Athena stood alongside Monty and Jasper as they proudly presented their concoction of alcoholic juice.

"My lady, you have the honors of being the first one to try it," Jasper declared, offering the drink to Athena with a wide grin.

Athena politely declined, holding up her hands. "No, thank you. I'll let someone else have the honors," she said, shaking her head.

Jasper attempted to sway her with puppy eyes, but Athena remained firm. "Don't even try, Jasper," she warned him.

Defeated, Jasper turned away and cheered, "Whoo! Yeah! Monty strikes again! Hey! Call this batch Unity Juice! Who's thirsty? Monty! There you go."

Athena couldn't help but smile at Jasper's enthusiasm, but she was content to watch from the sidelines as the others enjoyed Monty's latest creation.

As the crowd gathered around Monty and Jasper, Athena spotted a group of girls sitting on the ground, engrossed in a game of cards. "Hey, can I join you?" she asked, approaching them with a hopeful smile.

"Sure," one of the girls, introduced as Harper, replied warmly, making room for Athena to join them.

Grateful for the opportunity to unwind and enjoy some leisure time, Athena settled in with the group, relishing the chance to forget about the dangers lurking beyond the camp's boundaries.

As the hours passed, Athena found herself immersed in the company of Harper, Fox, and Monroe, the day slipping away in a haze of laughter and camaraderie.

"I'm gonna go get a drink. Anyone want something?" Monroe announced, rising to her feet. Both Harper and Fox nodded eagerly in response.

"I'll go see what the others are up to," Athena chimed in, stretching her tired muscles as she prepared to explore the camp.

Athena spotted Bellamy enjoying an apple while surveying the camp. "Hey, you," she greeted him as she approached his side.

"Who won?" Bellamy inquired between bites of his apple.

"Everyone but me. I suck at cards," Athena admitted with a hint of disappointment in her tone.

"Didn't expect you to be such a Unity Day fan," she observed, noting his cheerful demeanor throughout the day.

"You're not?" Bellamy raised an eyebrow.

"No, not really. But I like it here on Earth more than I did on the Ark," Athena replied honestly, taking in the sights and sounds of their newfound home.

As they continued chatting, Athena couldn't help but notice the way Bellamy's smile seemed to light up the entire camp. It was infectious, and she found herself smiling back without even realizing it.

"Yeah, Earth has its perks," Bellamy agreed, his gaze drifting from the bustling camp to Athena beside him. "But it's the people that make it truly special."

Athena's heart skipped a beat at his words."Yeah, definitely," she replied, trying to keep her tone casual despite the butterflies in her stomach. "And speaking of perks, at least here we have apple trees instead of algae farms."

Bellamy chuckled, nudging her playfully. "True. Much better scenery for a card game, don't you think?"

As they lounged together, Bellamy noticed the lingering exhaustion in Athena's eyes, a silent echo of the difficult day they had both endured. "Hey," he began gently, his voice carrying a hint of concern, "did you manage to get any sleep last night?"

Athena hesitated for a moment before nodding, offering him a small, grateful smile. "Yeah, a little," she admitted, her voice soft with exhaustion. "Thanks for asking."

Bellamy nodded understandingly, his expression warm and reassuring. "Anytime," he replied, his tone sincere. "Remember, if you ever need someone to talk to or just a place to crash, you can always come to me, okay?"

Athena felt a wave of gratitude wash over her at his offer, knowing that she had a friend in Bellamy she could rely on even in the darkest of times. "Thanks, Bellamy," she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation.

"That means a lot."
