Athena grabbed a small bucket on her way out of camp, deciding that fetching water for the grounder would give her a much-needed break. She needed to clear her head and get away from the camp's chaos.

She soon arrived at the river. Before filling the bucket with water, she sat down on the bank, needing a moment of peace. Listening to the gentle flow of the river and the birds chirping, she let out a deep sigh.

She didn't want to think about the bitter feeling lingering in her stomach, nor did she want to dwell on the sight of Bellamy and Clarke together. After a while of just sitting there, trying to quiet her racing thoughts, she realized it was time to head back as the sun was now beating down on her. Athena dipped the bucket into the cool water, watching as it filled up slowly.

Athena walked away from the river but stopped in her tracks, glancing back at the inviting water. She could use some refreshment, she thought.

Setting the bucket down, she waded into the river until it reached her waist. The cool water provided a brief, soothing escape from her worries.

As quickly as she had gone in, she stepped back out, her clothes clinging to her as they began to dry in the hot weather. Her hair, now damp, fell in soft curls around her face.

She smiled to herself as she ran her fingers through it, appreciating the way it looked. She liked her hair; it wasn't too short or long, just right.

Soon, the loud voices of the other teenagers reached her ears. She walked back into the camp and made her way up the ladder to the dropship.

Athena climbed up and placed the bucket on the ground before following it herself. She quickly sat down, taking a much-needed break. She wasn't fit enough for all this physical activity on Earth.

"Hey, Bambi," a voice called from behind her. Athena screamed loudly, her hand flying to her chest.

"You idiot. Don't scare me like that," she said, turning around to lock eyes with Bellamy, his freckled face attempting a smile but failing miserably.

Athena grabbed the bucket and walked up to the grounder. Before she could get any closer, Bellamy's hand shot out, grabbing her arm. "What are you doing?" he demanded.

"Giving him water," Athena replied, trying to ignore the warmth rushing into her cheeks as she looked at his hand, which still held her wrist tightly.

"I've tried doing that numerous times. He won't accept it," Bellamy said, following her gaze before letting go of her wrist.

"Oh," she said, looking back at the grounder. She placed the bucket next to him. "Well, if he changes his mind, I'll just leave it here."

The grounder's eyes flicked to the bucket and then back to Athena. He didn't move, but there was a subtle shift in his expression, something close to gratitude or understanding. Athena gave him a small nod and stepped back, feeling Bellamy's presence behind her.

"You shouldn't be up here, Bambi," Bellamy said softly, his tone more concerned than authoritative.

Athena glanced back at him. "I know. But I needed to do something, anything to help. And maybe, just maybe, a small act of kindness might make a difference."

Bellamy looked at her, his eyes softening. "Just be careful, okay? We don't know what he's capable of."

Athena took a seat next to Bellamy. They both sat quietly, the silence stretching between them. Suddenly, the hatch opened, and Miller walked in.
