I TRIED MY BEST TO UNDERSTAND ARI
but it just felt like I was running into circles, if she didn't care then neither did I."Good, again this time use your right hand twice." Tony directed.
I bit down on my mouth guard before punching the dummy twice using my right hand. I was left handed so I didn't have as much force.
I've been boxing since I was ten, I always wanted to protect my mother from my dad but I was never strong enough.
Until now.
"Important match coming up soon, you're gonna have to work on that left jab." He informed while passing me a water bottle.
I downed the water in seconds, catching my breath. "How soon?"
"April 30th."
I almost coughed up the water. April 30th as in the day of me and Ariana's competition? This had to be a fucking joke.
"Something wrong?" Tony wondered after catching on to my stressed expression.
"Nah, everything's good." I lied.
I had to figure out a way to do both, I couldn't disappoint Ari but I couldn't disappear Tony either.
Fuck my fucking life.
After leaving the gym I pulled into my home driveway but someone else was in my spot. You have to be fucking kidding me.
While unlocking the door I knew what to expect, so I wasn't surprised when I saw my father sitting on the couch with my mom.
"Are you fucking serious?" I sighed disappointedly.
No matter how much I assured to her that she was too good for a drunk dead-beat like him, she always eventually went back.
It was a repeating cycle throughout my entire life.
"He has a fever sweetheart, feel him he's burning up." My mom reasoned.
"Yeah he's probably high on fucking coke or some shit! He can't be here!" I spat.
Not only because I didn't want him here but because he literally couldn't be here, my mom put a restraining order against him.
I didn't understand why though, they'd just be right back together a month later.
"Kai..." She muttered with a pleasing look.
"No, i'm sick of him pulling this shit and i'm sick of your clueless ass falling for it! He doesn't fucking love you!" I urged.
