49. Wedding shopping

Shreya was standing in front of a mirror wearing a green-colored suit with white leggings and a dupatta lying on her shoulder. She looked at herself and noticed a pendant lying on her neck which was recently chosen by her mother-in-law.

"It's looking so pretty Choti Maa," Meera said looking at Shreya who was still flabbergasted on carrying a diamond necklace around.

"Then it's final. It will be my wedding gift to Shreya" Anika said.

"But maa it's....." Shreya was interrupted by Rashmi.

"Beta it's the first gift from your mother-in-law. Never say no to Shagun things." Rashmi said politely and Shreya bit her tongue.

"Look, papa! How's it for her muhdikhai?" Meera said taking bangles in her hand and showing them to Rajveer sitting beside her choosing jewelry for her.

"They are so pretty. We should buy 4 pairs for all my daughters." He said as Darsh nodded at him and Meera just palmed her forehead.

Shreya stood there feeling blessed and nervous both at the same time. Blessed to have such a lovely family and Nervous about how she will handle those expensive gifts.

"This will look good on Shreya." Rajveer and Darsh said showing a necklace set to everyone and they nodded.

And yet again Shreya was put in front of the mirror to try on a gold set.

A week later was the date of Shreya and Abhishek's wedding. All of it was happening so early but no one was complaining about it, especially the bride and groom. The day families met, they decided to call the priest who told them the auspicious day for the wedding was after a month which was dev uthni gyas and the other date was after 4 months , and both families decided to go with November 13 which was 1st date.

( Dev uthni gyas is the first date from when the marriages start in north. Anyone can get married on this day as this is most auspicious day.)

This past month was way too hectic for Shreya and Abhishek and they both were not getting enough time with each other as Shreya's family also started sleeping with her at night because of the less time they had with their daughter , leaving Abhishek frustrated and Shreya craved for her. Even today, Abhishek and Aashrit couldn't come for the shopping as they were trying to finish all their meeting before the wedding functions started.

Shreya sat there silently helping Vidushi and Dhruvesh to choose jewelry for her.

"Maa I got a call from a designer that they want Abhi and Shreya to visit today for their outfit fitting," Meera said looking at her phone with some stressed line on her forehead because of the arrangement she had to handle.

"I told you to hire a wedding planner. Look, how stressed my daughter is." Darsh said side hugging Meera making others laugh.

"I am fine chote papa. It's just that their outfit is important and I want to finalize it today only but your sons are giving me a headache. I asked them to take today's leave but no all their important meeting are today only." She said frustrated

"I am telling you Rashmi ji. I will disown your son if he keeps troubling my gudiya like this." Rajveer aid frustrated.

"I won't mind." Rashmi said trying on ear rings making Meera laugh.

"Please you guys select jewelry, I will be taking Shreya with me." She said taking Shreya's hand.

"Be safe beta," Dhruvesh said worried.

Meera turned back to see a worried look on his face "Don't worry uncle. Adwait and Nirvaan are with us and also Aashrit ji already made sure about our safety." She replied with a smile and Dhruvesh looked at his daughter going out with a smile and he felt relaxed.
