15: 𝐴𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛

As you close the door behind you, it became pitch black inside the house. You rubbed the wall in search of the light switch but failed to find it.

Y: "Kinito! I'm back! Are you there?"

Some eerie footsteps were heard. They came from in front of you, then... Your left... Then... The ceiling?
Some creepy, slightly glowing eyes were watching you. They looked a lot like the eyes Kinito had in the art of his book "New Beginnings".
You step back. You were feeling so sick that your eyes were playing tricks on you. You fell to your knees, cupping your aching stomach.
Something leaped at you from the dark.
You finnaly got a hold of the light switch and turned the lights on right before being tackled.

K: "Y-y... You.... Came back...."

Kinito's still robotic voice was shaky, almost as if he'd be on the verge of crying.
He was hugging you tightly from behind. It felt like he was back to his original form.

Y: "Ugh... Sorry for the delay... I had a lot of work to do and i suddenly felt so sick and stressed and..."

Kinito let you go.

K: "Erm... Ooops.... About that..."

Y: "Kinito... What did you do?"

K: Well... You know... It's hard to be a human with just... Code.... Using another human as a base is... Helpful..."

After a pause, Kinito continues

"And I thought you wouldn't mind-
I mean... I NEVER thought it would impact you! But... Now we're... Slightly connected?"

I looked at Kinito; my expression said it all. But soon, my gaze softened.

K: "I'm sorry... Please don't be mad, i didn't mean to hurt you."

In response, i just hugged Kinito. He seemed rather surprised.

Y: "So that's what you felt while i was gone?"

K: "Ah... No... What you feel isn't... Whole. It's just... About 10% of my feelings."

What...? So Kinito felt ten times worse than i while i was working? I'm surprised he hasn't gone insane!
He deserves more than this... I guess I should've given him a way to contact me.

And ... I should reward him.
