The two of them exchanged glances as they devoured on their dinner. Despite this silence, sakura's heart beat was loud and clear. It was almost like her heart was going to jump out of her chest at any point. To break this awkward silence sakura spoke out.
"Sasuke kun, I'll be going to the hokage's office tomorrow." Sakura said whist taking another bite of the curry her mother made.
"Hn" sasuke replied showing no interest. Maybe he was just tired?. The silence crept in once again and as usual sakura talked to make it less awkward.
"Ah right, if you need anything you can call naruto over. That idiot can be blabber mouth but he's helpful" sakura said while smiling. After they were done with their dinner they returned the dishes to the kitchen.
"Are you sure with taking the floor sasuke kun?" I-i could sleep on the floor and you could take the bed?" She asked again.
"Im good sakura, thank you." Those word enough to get sakura all flustered.
"Well then, oyasumi sasuke kun"
"Oyasumi"
The both exchanged their goodnights but it was noticeable that the both of them could not sleep at all. Sasuke, the shadow ninja who remained his cool aura was now sleeping in sakura's apartment. Sakura who's yearned for sasuke's love all these years finally got to spend the night under the same roof. Sakura turned over and stared at her right side that was empty. she really thought sasuke would be fine with sleeping next to her.
Despite their thoughts flowing in each second they both fell asleep as soon as they closed their eyes. And just like yesterday a new day had arisen.
Sasuke's pov
How long did i sleep? Either way sakura must've left by now. I could've dropped her at the hokage office but the fatigue from yesterday struck me hard. I should start training again. Sasuke thought to himself. While he was making his bed he noticed a note stuck on the coffee table next to the window.
sakura must've left this for me.
Sasuke kun, I've left some onigiri in the tray. Make sure to heat them up before eating. I'll be back before dawn.
-sakura haruno.
"Sakura haruno.." sasuke uttered to himself. Until he heard the loud sharp voice yell out his name. This voice was none other than the yellow haired jinchuruki, Uzumaki naruto.
"Sasuke-teme! How dare you lock me out of sakura chan's appartment! I'm the one who told you the direction'tebayyo!". Sasuke sighed and accepted his faith. Faith meaning that he'd have to spend the rest of his day with naruto until sakura gets home. Sasuke unlocked the door letting naruto's voice break the sound barrier itself.
"Finally, you really forgot about me didn't you!?" Naruto invited himself into sakura's appartment.
"You're awfully loud, it's 10AM " sighed sasuke.
"So, so, sooooooo~?"
"What is up with you" sasuke glared angrily at naruto. It looked like naruto was searching for something or a certain someone.
"Sakura left a few hours ago, she has a meeting with the higher ups-" before the black haired uchiha could finish his sentence he was interrupted by the witty fellow naruto.
"Nanda yo, usuratonkachi."
"Yeesh calm down, calm down. I was just wondering if the ever-so-cool sasuke may have did something mischievous with sakura chan last night."
".. you are annoying" sasuke exclaimed.
Naruto smiled back at sasuke who was definitely not happy with him.
"So what's your plan for today?" Naruto sat down on the sofa stretching his arms out.
"Training." Sasuke replied as he folded the mattress and stored it in the closet.
"You didn't tell me about this training of yours! Let me join temee!!"
"Sigh.. sure." Despite everything, i had no company. Even though i was used to staying alone most of the times during my journeys, but I've never felt alone in konoha. Naruto's existence was always there to bother me at all times. And I appreciated his company at all times.
Naruto and sasuke set off to the training ground to train. To sasuke it may have been mere training but for naruto this brought back memories of team 7.
After several hours of training the sun was about to set. Naruto was completely exhausted from training and sasuke.. not too exhausted.
"Ah! Dammit i forgot, im g'onna have to dip sasuke! I need to run some errands for hinata. M'lady's pregnant ya know! Im gonna become a father!" Naruto shouted as he ran towards his house. He turned back and took a second to wave goodbye to sasuke. Sasuke smiled from afar.
That dobe really has grown hasn't he. He's going to become a father already.
"Sasuke kun!" A voice reached out to sasuke from afar. It was none other than sakura. Happy to see sakura, sasuke faintly smiled at sakura. The both of them decided to walk home together.
Sasuke despite remaining quiet was taken aback by sakura's beauty and her determination towards building the centre. She really was determined in her work.
"Hn" sasuke smiled to himself.
"Eh? Eh what happened sasuke kun?" Sakura poked sasuke.
"Nothing, i was just thinking of what naruto
said"
"What'd he say?" Sakura chuckled
"He was blabbering and going on and on about becoming a father. That dobe must be pissing his pants aswell." Sasuke smiled faintly.
"You're right sasuke kun!" Sakura replied "but despite his fear it must feel great to become a parent. He must feel a great sense of responsibility within him now. He's never leaving hinata's side!!" Sakura laughed to herself.
Sasuke remained silent.
Parent? A great sense of responsibility...Sasuke thought to himself as he looked over at sakura who was more than happy to be by sasuke's side.
