"Sasuke-kun, aren't you going to sleep?" Sakura asked, wrapping herself in her duvet as Sasuke sat beside her on the bed, absorbed in reading the scroll Orochimaru had given him.
"Sasuke-kun," Sakura called again to get his attention, but he seemed too engrossed.
"Sasuke-kunnn? Earth to Sasuke?" Sakura said, snapping her fingers repeatedly.
"Hn?" Sasuke looked at her, unfazed.
"Are you okay? You seemed pretty lost in your thoughts."
"I'm fine, just thinking."
"I see... well, I'm going to sleep," Sakura said, getting cozy and snuggling into bed while her husband stayed up reading the scroll. Karin had lent them her bedroom to show her gratitude to Sakura.
Sasuke realized he needed to confirm the details given in the scroll firsthand. According to the information, more Otsutsuki are roaming the shinobi world in search of vessels to conquer it. As Orochimaru had stated, these Otsutsuki were in different dimensions, making Sasuke the only one capable of handling this mission alone. Determined to return before Sakura's due date, Sasuke set his thoughts aside and closed his eyes to rest.
"Yawn... S-Sasuke-kun?" Sakura murmured as she sat up, stretching her arms. She turned to her right and noticed her husband wasn't in bed. Looking around, she found a note Sasuke had left behind and read it softly.
"I have a mission to complete. - Sasuke Uchiha," the note said.
"Of course," Sakura sighed, exhaling sharply. She didn't take it too seriously, knowing how committed Sasuke was to his responsibilities.
The hideout was eerily quiet as Sakura paced the small room, her hand resting on her swollen belly. Sasuke had gone out on a mission, He had left her in the care of Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo at Orochimaru's hideout, reassuring her that she would be safe.
Days passed uneventfully, but now it was the 31st of March 2pm and something felt different. Sharp pains began radiating through Sakura's abdomen, intensifying with each passing minute. She winced, clutching her belly as she sank onto the bed.
"Karin!" she called out, her voice strained with pain.
Karin rushed in, her face immediately filled with concern. "Sakura, what's wrong?"
"It's... it's the baby," Sakura groaned, another wave of pain hitting her.
"I think I'm going into labor."
Karin's eyes widened. "Alright, stay calm. We need to get you comfortable and prepare for the delivery." She quickly set to work, gathering supplies and making Sakura as comfortable as possible on the bed.
As the contractions grew more intense, Sakura's thoughts turned to Sasuke. "Where is he?" she cried out, tears streaming down her face.
"I need s-sa.."
"I'll send Suigetsu and Jugo to find him. Just hold on, Sakura. You're strong. You can do this." Karin's face was grim.
She ran out of the room, finding Suigetsu and Jugo in the hideout's main hall.
"Sakura's in labor, and we need Sasuke here now! You two go find him and bring him back as quickly as possible."
Without hesitation, Suigetsu and Jugo nodded, immediately setting off to locate Sasuke.
Back in the room, Sakura's labor progressed, the pain growing more excruciating with each contraction. Karin stayed by her side, offering what comfort she could and preparing for the delivery.
Hours passed, each one feeling like an eternity. Sakura's cries echoed through the hideout, her body wracked with pain and exhaustion. She clung to the hope that Sasuke would return soon, but as time dragged on, her strength began to wane.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the door burst open, and Sasuke rushed in, his face a mix of worry and determination. "Sakura!" he called out, running to her side and taking her hand.
"Sasuke," she gasped, tears of relief mixing with her cries of pain. "You're here."
"I'm here," he reassured her, brushing her sweat-soaked hair from her forehead. "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."
"I-im tired, it hurts!" Sakura cried out.
"It'll be okay sakura, hang in there."
"Okay sasuke, i need you out of the room right now." Sasuke nodded nervously leaving the room to karin and sakura.
"Alright sakura, follow my words."Hours dragged on, and despite the agony, Sakura pushed through, determined to bring their child into the world.
Karin worked tirelessly, guiding Sakura through the process with steady hands and calming words. Finally, after a long and grueling struggle, a baby's cry filled the room.
"It's a girl," Karin announced, her voice filled with relief and joy. She carefully handed the newborn to Sakura, who cradled her daughter with trembling hands, tears streaming down her face.
"Sasuke, you can go in now," Karin said, her smile warm and encouraging as she stepped out of the room.
Heart pounding, Sasuke rushed inside, his breath catching in his throat as he took in the scene before him. There, on the bed, was Sakura, cradling their newborn daughter in her arms. Her face, though flushed and exhausted, was illuminated with a soft, radiant glow. Tears welled up in Sasuke's eyes as he slowly approached them, overwhelmed by the sight of his wife and child.
"Sakura," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
Sakura looked up, her eyes glistening with tears of joy and relief. "Sasuke," she murmured, her voice filled with love.
Sasuke's knees felt weak as he reached out, gently touching the tiny hand of his newborn. His heart swelled with an indescribable mix of love, pride, and gratitude. In that moment, the weight of the world lifted from his shoulders, replaced by the profound joy of his new family.
Sasuke leaned in, his eyes softening as he looked at their baby. "Sarada" he whispered, pressing a kiss to his daughter's forehead.
Exhausted but overjoyed, Sakura held their daughter close, feeling an overwhelming sense of love and relief. Despite the pain and fear, they had made it through together, their family now complete.
"Sakura, I'm sorry I left you alone, especially at a time like this," Sasuke said, his voice filled with regret as he cradled his daughter in his arms. He handled her with the utmost care, as if she were the most delicate thing in the world. It was his first time holding a baby.
"It's fine, Sasuke-kun," Sakura replied with a warm smile, noticing the nervous expression on his face.
"What's with that look?" she chuckled softly, covering her mouth.
"S-Sarada has black hair and black eyes," Sasuke remarked quietly, still in awe.
"Yes, she does. She looks just like you, anata," Sakura said, glancing lovingly at her husband and daughter. But as Sarada heard their voices, she burst into tears, crying as any newborn would. Sasuke quickly handed her back to Sakura, who tried to soothe her, though Sarada continued to cry.
"Ahh, she's still crying," Sakura noted with a hint of concern.
"I guess she's hungry," she said, gently slipping the front of her dress down to breastfeed.
"Hn," Sasuke mumbled, his face flushing. He quickly shook his head, bringing himself back to reality, and watched with a mix of admiration and tenderness as Sakura fed their daughter.
"Sasuke-kun, maybe it's time we head home," Sakura suggested softly, gently patting their daughter's back until she fell asleep.
"Hn," Sasuke agreed, smiling warmly
