"Agh," Sakura exclaimed, sinking to her knees and covering her mouth with her hand.
"What happened!?" Sasuke inquired, his concern evident in his tone.
"I... I'm going to pu—" Sakura started to say, but she was interrupted by a sudden bout of vomiting. Once again, pregnancy was playing its cruel games, leaving Sakura feeling exhausted even after emptying her stomach.
"Do you want me to carry you?" Sasuke offered, his concern for his wife evident.
"Are you sure, anata?" Sakura chuckled weakly, gesturing to his missing arm.
"I'm pretty strong despite having only one arm," Sasuke replied, his eyes twitching slightly at his wife's playful jab.
"I'm joking, anata, but I don't want to be too much of a burden to you," Sakura said, struggling to get up despite her lack of energy. Without saying anything, Sasuke bit the top of his thumb, letting it bleed as he summoned his old companion.
"Sasuke-sama," Aoda, Sasuke's summoned snake, lowered its head out of respect.
"Aoda, can you do me a favor?" Sasuke asked, his gaze shifting to Sakura.
"Yes, Sasuke-sama," Aoda replied obediently.
"Can you carry my wife?" Sasuke requested, nodding towards Sakura.
"Sasuke-sama, it's not a problem for me, but won't others find it strange?" Aoda hissed, glancing nervously at Sakura, who waved awkwardly at the snake.
"As per your order, I shall comply," Aoda said, laying his body down for Sakura to climb onto.
"Anata, are you sure about using Aoda as our transportation? Let the poor snake rest," Sakura pouted, patting Aoda's skin.
"It's fine," Sasuke assured her as he walked beside Aoda and Sakura.
"Sasuke-sama, I sense another chakra presence," Aoda hissed, alerting Sasuke.
"It's my daughter," Sasuke explained.
"Congratulations, Sasuke-sama," Aoda said gently.
"Aoda, do you think the baby will be a girl or a boy?" Sakura asked curiously.
Sasuke sighed inwardly at his wife's question directed at a snake, but he remained silent as Aoda responded.
"I am not sure, Sakura-sama. I am not well-versed in the offspring and reproductive system of human beings," Aoda replied. Sasuke shook his head at the absurdity of the situation, realizing anew the quirks of pregnancy.
"Stay here with Sakura, Aoda. I have some unfinished work," Sasuke instructed as he left them alone. Sakura leaned back against Aoda's body, rubbing her belly gently.
"Aoda," Sakura said softly.
"I have a favor to ask on behalf of Sasuke-kun and me," she continued, patting Aoda.
"Will you please protect Sarada if the situation arises where Sasuke and I aren't around?" Sakura requested, her voice tinged with sadness as she glanced at the grass.
Aoda remained silent for a moment before speaking with determination.
"Sakura-sama, I swear my life to protect Sarada-sama," Aoda vowed bravely.
"Do not fear. I see a great future for the three of you," Aoda reassured her. Sakura smiled warmly, feeling assured that Aoda would be there for her family no matter what.
"Thank you, Aoda," Sakura said softly as she closed her eyes, finding solace in Aoda's presence. Hours later, Sasuke returned.
"Sak—" Sasuke began, but Aoda interrupted with a whisper. A snake whispering? Yeah, it's crazy.
"Sasuke-sama, Sakura-sama is sleeping. I advise you not to wake her up," Aoda whispered quietly. Without question, Sasuke sat down next to Aoda's head.
"What did she tell you?" Sasuke inquired as he removed his cloak and placed it on the grass.
"You have quite the charming wife, Sasuke-sama," Aoda replied, hissing softly. Taken aback by Aoda's words, Sasuke responded with a faint smile as he glanced at Sakura, who slept peacefully.
"Yeah i know. She's my wife after all"
