Star's POV
After the weekend at Lake Tahoe the boys and I were back home and I was prepping to present my new album concept to my team. I asked the boys if they could be there to support me while I did, and of course they said yes.
I have to admit opening up like that was very hard but I think it brought a little bit of healing to be able to express myself. As a kid that was never allowed, if I mentioned being sad it was somehow my fault and it was my plot to ruin the family.
The boys made me feel safe and like I wasn't a burden to share my trauma. Now I want to share it with the world because I want the people that sadly have to go through the same thing to know that there are people who understand. That was one thing about being young and alone going through all that, I didn't think anyone could ever understand me. I always thought I was alone, I want to let people that they aren't alone and that they can survive.
I think that weekend has definitely strengthened our friendship, the boys finally knew about my past and I know they accept me with all I am.
"Are you ready?" Dallas asks me as the three of us stand outside the door of where my meeting was taking place.
"You got this Star, we'll be right there." Ian reassures me.
I take a deep breathe in and nod. "Let's do this." I say opening the door.
Everyone was already there, I greeted everyone and the boys took their seats in the background. I plugged my laptop onto the screen and get started.
"Okay, so we are all gathered here today because I wanted to share the new concept for my next album." I say.
"We also had some concepts in mind, just want to put that out there." Someone says.
"Trust me, I think this is it." I tell them confidently. "I am going to share a short video with you guys and we will go from there."
I play the clip and everyone's eyes go to the screen.
While we were in Tahoe I got the boys to help me film a short video covering the bases of the new album and it came out great. It captured the rawness of the sadness.
The video ended and everyone looked surprise.
"What does this all mean?" Kass questions.
"That's what we are heading towards. So growing up I went through a lot just like many people but mine was abuse." I start and tell them a not very detailed version of it.
"Holy shit, this is fucking great." Kass says.
"The point of this album is for my audience to get to know me better and this can bring a lot of awareness to abuse." I tell them.
Everyone in the room began to talk to one another.
"I think this is great. We definitely have to move forward with this." One of the creative directors says.
A smile grows over my face. "Really?"
"Yeah, this is going to do numbers." Kass says.
"My main thing is that if we do this we have to connect with charities that help kids and abuse victims." I say. "We have to help people."
"We will do whatever you want." Kass tells me. "To our new album."
The room cheers and I look over to Dallas and Ian whom are throwing me thumbs up.
I dismissed the meeting and it was just the boys and I in the room.
"Ahh!" I squeal as I jump up and down. "Oh my gosh that was lowkey scary."
