Star's POV
I awoke abruptly in my bus's bed. I was wearing a long sleeve shirt and pajama shorts.
My anxiety spiked since I couldn't recall how I got here. My last memory is of taking a shot following my Billboard Music Awards performance.
I reached for my phone, which was charging, I checked my texts right away to see if I had texted anyone while intoxicated. I had texted Dallas and Ian in the group chat saying I wished they were here because everybody around me is fucking boring.
I knew going on TikTok that I would be able to find everything I needed. Unsure of whether I would witness myself getting dragged for a dumb mistake I might have done, I felt a little afraid.
The first video I saw when I opened the app was about the music awards.
I browsed through the hashtag in order to be up to speed on everything.
"Last night Star won all ten nominations she was nominated for."
"Star's heart warming message to Dallas Liu and Ian Ousley."
I was shocked that I couldn't remember that after watching the video. It was quite sweet, at least. There were a million posts of my performance clips online. Edits of me taking home every prize had already been made.
"These are the celebs who attended the Billboard Music Awards after party." One video grabs my interest.
Could I have gone? Definitely not, no way.
Watching the video I felt relieved as I hadn't heard my name, but the went away quickly.
"Star attended and wore this stunning outfit." A photo of me is displayed.
Oh no.
What went down in this party? There was nobody else in the bus with me as I jumped out of bed and went to find Kass.
I could hear Kass talking on the phone from a distance.
When I get off the bus, I see Kass.
"The plan is working. You don't need to worry. Give it more time, and people will be talking abo-."
"Kass?"
After turning around, she says, "I'll talk to you later." She ends the call to whoever she is speaking with.
I ask, "Who's that?"
"My sister."
"Oh. Is everything okay?
"Yeah, let's go inside." She informs me. "How are you feeling?" She asks me.
"I don't know, I have a lot of questions." I warn her.
"I'll try to answer." She says."What happened at that after party?" I wonder.
"I have no idea." She gives a shrug.
"I'm sorry?"
"I didn't go to the after party."
"How did I get back here?" I start to panic.
"You were brought back by Billie. You were pretty gone."
"Oh god, that's so embarrassing."
"You don't remember what happened?"
"I don't remember anything after my performance at the show." I clarify.
"Are you serious? At the show, you were completely blacked out?
I sigh and give a head nod."Whoa, it was so subtle. It's amazing how well you can act sober." Surprised, she says. "I think you should call Billie and find out what happened."
"Yeah I guess I should." I bite my lip. "Also, where are we? Where is everyone?"
"We're driving back to L.A, just made a quick pit stop."
"Please let me know what I have going on, or print me a schedule, I don't want last night to happen again. Whatever you have to do, do it." I inform her.
"Sounds good." Says she. "I'm going to tell you right now when we get to L.A we will be there for a day then fly out to the U.K."
"Okay cool, what am I doing there?""You are going on the Chicken Shop Date, then performing at the Brits."
"What is my timeframe for the Brits?"
"You will have an entire day to rehearse for it." She informs me.
"It's not perfect, but I'll take it. Better than knowing the day of, in my opinion."
"Look, Star, I apologize for not informing you in advance about last night. I really didn't mean any harm by it."
"I accept your apology, but from now on I want to be let in on everything I will be doing."
"You got it, now would be a good moment for me to tell you that you have to start getting ready for the Grammy Awards. It's in two months."
"Thank you."
