Maria returns to Maria with her suitcase in hand along with her majestic knights cape flowing in the wind with Star getting excited from seeing her friend but also a bit embarrassed from seeing her friend since she knows the cape was more symbolic than anything.
But she couldn't say something like that as it might hurt her best friend from earth's feelings so Star did her best to ignore this little fact while everyone around started whispering until Star looked at them as if to signal them to shut up!
As Star was giving Maria a tour around the castle to both distract and also actually give her a tour like Maria did when Star had first arrived on earth. But unfortunately Star's father Rivers appears and lets Maria know the cold hard truth about her cape.
The truth of the matter was that Maria's cape was nothing more than a glorified bib River's would use whenever he ate cheese or meats with the particular cape Maria was wearing was his cheese cape as the meat one was in the wash at the time he was deciding which to give her.
Maria was utterly shocked as she looked over in disbelief and possibly hope at Star to see if what River's said was true or not and unfortunately knew it to be true as Star had one hand over her forehead and looked to be super annoyed at her father.
Thus a fight between the two friends started once they managed to find Star's room which honestly wasn't that different to her room on earth. But after taking in the sights of Star's room Maria started their argument once again as Maria had literally left everything she knew behind to be with Star and continue their adventures with one another with Star not seeming to want that and instead seemed to be trying to get Maria to go back home as quick as she could.
Eventually things managed to calm down a bit when Star eventually recognized Maria's desire to be a knight and to help Star with whatever she may had needed as a best friend would with Star letting out a massive sigh and telling Maria she could join the Laundry Knight.
Maria was at first overall excited before she found out that she was literally just a medieval washing machine who was tasked with making sure clothes were straight, water and soap levels were good, and to clean the lint trap when it got too full.
As this was all going down across the pond so to speak stood Eclipsa and the Shrouded creature as they were relaxing in their little spot like always as the Shrouded creature watched Star and Maria and gave Eclipsa the play by play of what he was witnessing.
The Shrouded creature kept Eclipsa informed of most if not everything that was going on in both the castle and the human town below it for no reason other than idle chatter, because if he didn't talk to her every once and awhile she would soon start getting really annoying which in turn greatly annoyed the Shrouded Creature.
It was interesting sight to see for the Shroud creature as it didn't understand what the heck they were fighting for or about as Star seemed to want what she thought was best for Maria while Maria seemed to be wanting to stay by her best friends side and continue having adventures with her.
Eclipsa: "Well my dear its all because they want something the other doesn't."
Shrouded Creature: "Ex... plain?"
Eclipsa: "Well from the sounds of it they both want something from the other. Star wants Maria to be safe while Maria wants to help Star. (Gets up and walks around) Both girls seem to want the other to help them with their own desires while also trying to help the other fulfill their own desire."
Shrouded creature: "(Head moves up) Like..... us?"
Eclipsa: "(Sits down crosses her legs and looks at the Shrouded creature with one hand on her chin and one resting in between her lap) Similar but not quite like us. Since ours is more of.... a contract sort of thing while theirs is about pure trust and desires."
Shrouded creature: "Desires... good? Desires.... thought bad."
Eclipsa: "Well I don't who told you that (bits her candy bar as the Shrouded creature seems to size her up with her throwing whatever was close by at it) Desires aren't inherently bad but instead are things that can become bad if they are taken to far. (Holds up candy bar) take this for instance I love these things with my whole heart but you keep making me feel like I'm eating to much of them."
Shrouded creature: "Are... found.... hidden... wrapper stash."
Eclipsa: "(Throws something else as the Shrouded creature effortlessly grabs it) Anyway! I love these things but too much of them will be a problem in the future I'm sure you know. (The Shrouded creature shrugs) *Mumbles* Some things have all the luck. *Speaks up again* Anyway eating enough of these will be bad for me and my lover but having a few here and there as I go about my days is fine so long as I make sure I can afford to have them. It's like that with those two they want to have the other still be their friend but at the same time have very different ideas of what they want to do now that the others there especially after the Toffee incident from what you've told me."
The Shrouded creature didn't quite understand what Eclipsa was saying as the woman sighed and continued eating her candy bar while the Shrouded creature continued to watch the duo as they went about being the little weirdo's they were. As Maria almost died from a lint monster while the Laundry knight sat back and read a magazine for the first time in probably ever since he became a knight.
Both Maria and Star eventually make up after the near death that was the lint monster with Star appointing Maria as her squire even though that spot's usually only available for knights... but hey she's the princess of this nation so who the heck really cares if Star makes Maria her squire.
With it all ending with the Shrouded creature getting kicked in the face by Star spawning the new tower that resembled her old room on earth like Star did with Maria's home for her tower with the Shrouded creature showing up in Eclipsa's room dripping wet as Eclipsa laughed and helped get the poor thing clean.
All while Eclipsa couldn't stop laughing after hearing how the Shrouded creature basically got kicked in the face by Star as they were exploring the castle walls once again for whatever reason as even Eclipsa had no idea what they were up to and like usual whenever asked they would ignore the question and either leave or change the topic.
