005 - Expected

This morning I woke up early. Very early. I wanted to take a shower. I felt my hair getting greasy so I decided to eat breakfast and then shower.

I immediately changed into my clothes and rushed out of my hut. I headed towards the kitchen.

I greeted Frypan and took a plate. Not many people were up. Only Fry and some runners. Oh. And probably the commanders.

I saw Minho and Newt sitting at a picnic table. I decided to join them.

"Good morning". I said with a smile on my face. I sat down next to Newt and again, across from Minho.

"Morning to you too". Minho said looking up from his food.

"Good morning". Newt said smiling at me.

None of us spoke. No one said anything for some minutes. Suddenly something popped into my head. A question I forgot to ask. I broke the silence by speaking up.

"Random question, but where are the showers?" I asked and both the boys turned to face me.

"Why planning on having one?" Minho's face lit up and a smirk formed in his face.

"Yeah," I sighed closing my eyes and opening them again. "Where are they?" I replied looking at both of them hitting the inside of my cheek.

"I can show you when we finish eating breakfast". Newt replied flashing me a smile.

"Alright". I tried to finish my food as quickly as possible because I felt the need to shower.

Newt waited for me to finish. When I was done, we got up and he led me to the showers. We walked to the Homestead going upstairs.

"Here". He opened the door for me. "Do you want me to keep watch?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

I felt my cheeks get red. Did he want to keep watch? That was gentle.

"Yeah if you don't mind". I said biting my lip.

"If I minded, I wouldn't be here in the first place Stel". He said and I folded at the nickname. I started to like it.

I stood there awkwardly. I had to change first. But how to ask him to leave?

I took a deep breath. "Newt?"

"Yes Stella?" He turned to me.

"I have to—" I said motioning at my clothes. I don't think he understood I meant the clothes.

"Uh yes, you want to shower". He slowly said nodding and frowning.

"I have to change, you know?" Again, I motioned at my clothes with my eyebrows raised.

His eyes widened. "Oh, yes. You're right sorry. I'll turn around". He said and he immediately did.

I tried as quickly as possible, to remove my clothes. Newt was on the door until I entered the shower.

I entered the shower. Turned on the water and- "AAH".

"Stella, are you okay?" Newt said rushing outside the stall.

"Yeah! Just the water". I said a little loudly so he could hear. The water was freezing. It was not a nice experience.

When the water got a little bit warmer, I stood down the shower.
