010 - A dream or...a memory?

                                CHAPTER 10

Today I didn't wake up on my own. Instead, someone came to wake me up.

"Who the shuck is it that early". I groaned. It indeed was early. Very early.

"It's me Newt". He said slowly opening the door.

"Hm," I was under my soft blanket. I just wanted more sleep.

Then Newt pulled the blanket off me causing me to fall to the ground because apparently, the blanket was tied around my body.

"Oops sorry. Come on let's get you up". He helped me get up and our eyes locked for a few seconds.

"Hm I think you should go, you know I have to change". I snapped. I didn't want to. But I didn't like Newt's behavior yesterday. He was telling me to stop being friends with a guy he hadn't even met!

"Oh yes you are right" he walked off but stopped before opening the door. "Sorry about yesterday Stel". He said and with that, he left.

My eyes widened. He apologized. He wasn't selfish. And also he called me Stel. One of my favorite nicknames for sure. I felt a warm feeling go through my body at the thought.

I didn't see many people at the picnic tables. Probably because Newt, had woke me up early. I spotted Nolan sitting alone at a table so I decided to join him.

"Hey," I said and he looked up.

"Hey how come you are so early in the morning? Usually only runners wake up at that time".

"Actually, Newt woke me up. They say I have to be awake in case anything happens. The disadvantage of being a Med-jack". I said and he chuckled. I didn't get why no one talked to him. Well, I was about to change that.

"So you and Newt are close". He said grinning. Again what did he mean?

"Yeah mostly". I shrugged.

"You know if you wanna do something you gotta act fast. There may not be much time". When I was about to ask again Minho walked towards us.

"Nolan, you are running with me today". Minho said his expression blank.

"Minho do you have any spare notebooks?" My mind snapped on that and quickly asked.

"Yeah in the Map room. When I'm back from the Maze remind me so I can give you one".

"See you later Stella". Nolan said smiling at me. Minho greeted me too and soon I was in the Med-hut.

"Morning greenie". Clint spoke without looking up.

"Morning to you too". I replied and my eyes concentrated on one thing. The book.

I took it and again, I started memorizing. Or at least tried. That early my mind couldn't work properly. But I was feeling that I slowly started to get attached. Not much but later on it wasn't helpful.

Soon without noticing it was lunchtime. I looked around the tables. No sign of Newt. But why did I care?

"Hey, greenie wanna sit with us?" I turned around and saw Gally. At the table there was Mike and Ben. The runners came early today or I have lost track of time. Probably the first one.

"Sure" Without second thoughts, I sat down with them to soon notice some people walking towards the picnic tables.

And yes I recognised the voices.
