Chapter 73 - Our Way Out (Nino/Carapace)

I feel so bad for them. Adrien and Luka might never be able to be together. In any way whatsoever. It's not fair to them. They deserve to be happy.

If Alya and I were in their shoes we would feel their pain. I kinda already feel it, they're really upset. But they can't show it around eachother because Luka doesn't know Adrien is Chat Noir and vise versa.

I wish I could at least mention something to hint it. But I can't, it would be too risky and dangerous. The lives of my friends should be put first.

Even if it meant putting their happiness on hold. They need to stay alive if they ever want to be together.

I understand why Adrien did it. He knew what would happen if Hawk Moth turned Luka evil as Viperion. I could only imagine how much it would hurt to fight the love of your life.

But I really don't want to end my relationship with Alya, I would never be able to bring myself to fight her if she was the one to turn evil.

But the only difference between us and them is that our identities are not a secret to eachother. I know she's Rena Rouge and she knows I'm Carapace.

If either of us got Akumatized we might reveal our own identity or eachothers. That would be bad. It already kinda happened.

I was with Alya after we learned about Adrien and Luka's break up as their alter-egos. "Do you think they'll be okay?" She asked.

"I actually haven't talked to Adrien about it yet. I couldn't find him when I went looking for him. I could see how upset Luka was. I don't know how it will go when they see eachother in our next battle whenever it may be." I explained.

"This is so complicated. Their relationship never works out. They tried many times but it never worked because it's all too dangerous. They don't even know eachothers identities so that just makes it harder for them." Alya collapsed backwards on my bed.

"You're right about that." I joined her. I was tired for some reason. My eyes were about to close when the Akuma alert alarm rang loudly in my ears.

"Looks like we've got work to do." I got up and reached out my hand for Alya to take. "Yes we do."

We transformed together.

Adrien called us. He said it was important. We found him with Viperion cradled in his arms. He looked very confused when he saw us.

"What happened?" Ladybug asked. "He doesn't remember us. The last person he was with is the only one he'll remember." Chat Noir explained.

Is he being serious? Did Luka really loose all his memories of us? Ladybug leaned down closer to him. "Who were you with last?" I could see in his face it didn't take him long to think about it. "I remember Adrien. We were reading Harry Potter last night. Why can I remember him but nothing else? I don't even know who I am." I watched Ladybug turn her gaze to Chat Noir.

"Take him to Adrien, we've got this." But that means we won't have either of them. I really hope you know what you're doing Marinette. "Just go, we got this." She insisted.

Adrien finally gave in and took Luka away. Ladybug turned to us. "Adrien and Luka are counting on us. We are not going to let them down, are we?"

The rest of shook our heads. "Absolutely not. This one is going down for erasing my brother's memories." Purple Tigress was the most determined to win out of all of us.

I don't blame her. Luka is her brother. Juleka has every right to be angry and ready to get him back to normal. If Chris lost all his memories of me, I would do everything in my power to get my little brother back.
