Chapter 89 - Beautiful Crazy (Nino/Carapace)

I was in my room after the most recent Akuma battle. I left with Alya separatly at first but then we met up before heading to my place. My parents invited her to stay for dinner and we actually got permission from them and Alya's parents to have our very first sleepover.

Of course the only way that was allowed was if I slept on the floor and Alya took my bed. I was glad to do it since it meant I was able to have my girlfriend stay the night.

We were just about ready for bed when my phone started to ring. When I looked at the caller ID I saw it was Chloe. I answered. "Nino! Are you there?!" I could hear the desperation in her voice.

"Chloe? What's wrong? Hang on, I'll put you on speaker, Alya is with me." I pressed the button and we could both hear her now.

"I need you guys to come over! It's Adrien, he's hurt. He broke up with Luka and he came home balling his eyes out. I let him take a shower in my room but I think when he was coming out he slipped and fell. I sent Miles in there to check on him, he's compleatly out of it. I called 9-1-1 and they sent paramedics. We're actually in the ambulance right now on our way to the hospital. Meet us there. We have to go, bye!"

The tone went dead and I looked up at Alya with wide eyes. The two of us rushed to get dressed before bolting out of my room and heading outside. I lived only a few blockes from the hospital so we ran as fast as we could to get there.

We found Chloe and Miles sitting in the waiting room. Luka, Marinette and Juleka rushed through the doors frantically searching for us. Once they saw me they rushed over.

Marinette was clearly the most eager to know answers. "Is he okay?!" Chloe stood up, she was the only one with the information. "So far all we know is that he got a minor concussion from his fall. They fixing the small brain bleed he got." Marinette gasped. "He's in sergery?" Chloe nodded.

Alya grabbed my hand and squeezed, she knew how hard this must be for me. My best friend is in sergery getting his brain fixed from the smallest concussion. But still, that can do some damage.

The doctor came out of the sliding doors and headed for us. "How'd it go?" Luka was the first one to ask. "We got his brain bleed under control, he's still unconsious. It may take an hour or two for him to wake up, but other than that, he's going to make a full recovery. Go in and stay with your boyfriend son." The doctor set his hand on Luka's shoulder.

"But he's not my-" Luka started but the doctor dismissed him. "His room is down the hall and third one to your left." Marinette and the others didn't hesitate to rush into Adrien's room. I stayed to wait and find out what Luka would do.

The doctor had left. "What happened with you and Chat Noir? You guys just got back together." Luka sighed. "It's a long story. I didn't want to say anything with everyone around. Chloe would probably send me to an early grave." I put my hand on his shoulder.

"If you explain it to her, I'm sure she'll understand. We all will." I promised. "Yeah. You're right." He finally agreed. "Come on. Let's go make sure your boyfriend is okay." I teased.

I heard him groan. "Dude, that's not funny. He's going to send me to an early grave for sure if he knew doctors assumed he was my boyfriend." I only chuckled. "Relax. Just tell him it was a misunderstanding and that they didn't know you're not boyfriends." I told him.

"Easier said than done. He avoids conversations with me as much as possible." He said. "There's no way he won't talk to you with all of us there. We'll make sure you have the chance to talk and that he listens to what you have to say to him." He sighed. "Thanks Nino." I gave him a thumbs up. "Any time, dude."
