Chapter 85 - Drama Club (Narrator)

It started with Adrien and Luka's detention. The two boys were furious at eachother. Upon arriving at the classroom detention took place in, Adrien and Luka sat at desks on opposide sides of the room from one another.

The teacher in charge of detention was one Mr. Burton, he was the Geography teacher. He wore glasses to read and had a thick british accent. "I'm sure you boys must have something to say to eachother."

Adrien looked over at the other side of the room where Luka was sitting. "I've got nothing to say to him." He turned his head away. Luka scowled. "I've got nothing to say to him either." He also crossed his arms and turned away.

Mr. Burton sighed and removed his glasses to rub his eyes. "Let me tell you a story," He stood up and sat down on a desk in the front row. "You need to come closer to hear it."

It took a few minutes, but Adrien and Luka eventually moved seats so they were sitting directly in front of Mr. Burton. "Now this is a true story, so pay attention." Neither of them were very interested in being told a story, but they both knew they had to suck it up and listen.

"When I was your age, I was in a similar situation with a friend of mine. We were best friends, actually. Look, I don't know what happened between you two for you to get to where you are now, but for me and my best friend, the thing that made our friendship pretty much plummet was.. a girl."

Luka's mouth opened to speak, but he couldn't get words out. "That's probably not what made you guys fight, but when me and my best friend started liking the same girl, things took a turn for the worst. We hated eachother from the day we found out the other liked her too, so.." Mr. Burton paused his story to see of Luka or Adrien would speak.

"What happened next?" Adrien blurted. "We each tried to confess, sabotaging eachother's attempts in the process. Turns out she didn't like either of us. Her heart belonged to another, and vise versa."

"Did you stay in touch with your old best friend?" Luka asked. "After all that we realized it was stupid to let something like feelings for the same girl ruin our friendship." Mr. Burton explained.

"So you're still friends?" Adrien wondered. "Uh, not exactly.." He pulled out his hand and showed off the gold band on his ringfinger. "We've been married for the past seven years."

Luka was so not expecting that plot twist. Neither was Adrien. "What?!" They shouted in unison. "Are you telling us to get married?" Luka managed to ask. Adrien was too stunned to speak.

Mr. Burton shook his head. "No, I'm not saying that. You don't have to have a relationship like I do with my husband. I'm just telling you this as an example. That there's always a way to fix a damaged friendship. Now, I don't know if the rumors are true, I don't want to assume, this is just what I've heard. But it sounded like the two of you were an.. item, at out point. Correct me if I'm wrong."

Adrien glanced over at Luka. "No, you're right, we did date." The blonde confirmed. "But before we dated, I was dating someone else." Luka explained. "So did I." Adrien added.

"We both broke up with our Exs and they sort of also dated eachother.. then they broke up. It's really complicated." Adrien turned away from Luka when he finished speaking.

"Yeah, and then this idiot got back with his first Ex." Luka frowned. "So did you." He shot back. "Technecally, we didn't offically date. It ended before it started, and it wasn't until later that we got together for real. And you know exactly why I had to break up with him. It was the same reason why you couldn't stay with your boyfriend-Ex-boyfriend or whatever he is now. Yet you decided to get back with him." Luka didn't appriciate Adrien calling him out like that and he wasn't afraid to show it.
