I was still in a shock thinking that she was way ahead of time that any of my clients were. I was silent but I heard a chuckle from the other side which wasn't must pleasing to me because I always liked everything professional when it comes to work, no other commitments or titles are going to bring a change in the fact that we're workmates.
She said, "you might be wondering how I got your number, but trust me it wasn't much difficult for me to get the phone number of a successful businessman like you. "
I don't know if she was pestering me with her words because it didn't please me either, instead I kept my face straight as I said, "it's okay Catherine. Well-"
Even before I could complete I heard Bam barking at the entrance. I frowned because it's kind of unusual that I might have a guest at this hour when the sun is finally going down. I couldn't help but call his name out so that he could be kept under control.
"Bam, what happened? Come here! "
Making my way towards the entrance, I saw a man who had a large bouquet of roses. I couldn't help but feel on edge thinking it might Cathy who sent me the flowers because again I could hear her chuckle. I closed my eyes and gripped my phone tight as I approached the man at the door to receive the bouquet.
Of course he was doing his job and I am in no way going to reject this or be angry at him. I closed the door behind and looked at the living room trying to figure out where can I keep this big bouquet of rose that I don't deserve. I thought of keeping it on my small coffee table at the living room and proceeded to pick my phone from the table only to realize that the call is on hold.
I kept it near to my ears and asked, "I received something just now, I wonder if this has anything to do with you?"
She giggled and said, "you shouldn't disrespect those beautiful flowers, Jungkook. It's just my way of telling you that I'm here in South Korea and that I'm happy to work with you, it's like a token of love from my side. "
Okay that's unexpected. She's already in Korea? I think I put myself in a grave trouble of letting this.
I said, "well, I don't really prefer receiving a token of love Or such personal calls especially from my clients. I prefer professionalism in everything, nothing more or less. " I clearly showed my strong disapproval to digest such things. But she chuckled again and said, "I expected this from you. You haven't changed a bit Jungkook. "
'As if she knew the real me. ' I scoffed internally at her mere knowledge of my personality she haven't come across till now, not that I'm intended to show it to her. Never!
I laced my voice with coldness and rudeness as I said, "it's better if we concentrate more on the upcoming work and make it successful rather than clinging to the past days in London. It's different and I don't really want to entertain it when you bring those times or the personal things here".
" Okay sir.. Your words are my command".
She said and even before she could say anything I ended the call with a "see you soon". I almost threw my phone at the couch and appreciated how Jimin was right about Cathy.
She just happened to stumble her path with me when we were in London, after that, almost everyday we walked past each other and she was the one who initiated a small smile, later I too started lifting the corner of my lips, in a way to show that I'm also returning the gesture. I can't say that I smiled, it wasn't a smile though.
We were in different classes except for one and soon she became my bench mate for the only hour we shared together. But whenever she claimed her seat next to me, Jimin would always flare up in anger and looks so pissed. But I never wanted to hurt anyone with my words and that's why I accepted to whatever she said, to whatever she did and let her roam with me even if I didn't wanted it much.
