C H A P T E R : 23

Nayna Pov

I feel so peaceful because the meeting that had been eating my brain since a week was finally over, but the biggest task is on its way towards my peaceful life.

The meeting was a success and the way he appreciated, made me so elated because I haven't received any notable appreciations from him till now.
Seriously I wonder how Erin led such stressful tasks and still managed to make it a success.

My friends, Noah and Daeun were present at the meeting and I made sure not to look at their direction, because if I did, I might end up laughing or forgetting my lines or purpose. Seriously they are dangerously funny guys who I cannot be with at serious situations.

But in between, my eyes fell on Jungkook who had his lips tucked between his teeth as he was paying attention to my presentation which I know because we have been together at College and that was my cue that my presentation isn't boring but interesting and not to mention his gaze which were so strong that I had to gather my entire courage to stand in front of him and do my presentation neatly.

My breathe went normal once I finished my part that everyone clapped at my presentation.

Maybe I did good today!

But the appreciation he gave me at the end was something I was least expecting plus, I didn't see it coming either. Maybe that's why I felt so free with him that I was about to blabber something as if I was talking to Noah. But realisation hit me like a truck that I stopped midway only to get reminded of the day I kissed him in frustration. Seriously I just hate me a lot now because fuck! Who's gonna kiss their boss due to frustration just because he happened to be the ex?
Anyways I must put a stop to my chain of thoughts because thinking is okay, but over thinking kills!

Today I didn't cross my path with him much and I'm thankful to my fate. Even though our official meeting was over, still the project was something that needed hours of brain tiring meetings, discussions and final decisions which definitely was a nerve wrecking one.
Since I was a newbie for this post that have been assigned to me, the seniors tried to over power and question my ability which made me a bit down, but to every mean comments they threw at me which they claimed it to be jokes, I tried to give proper replies and felt as if I'm living my old days of savagery.

Maybe I learned an important lesson today, "give what you receive! "

Well, I could proudly say that the result of our long unofficial meeting was quite appreciable because many of us could express our opinions and ideas which we couldn't in Ms. Cathy's presence and because of all such tiring works, my body betrayed me by gifting me a headache which is really playing it's toll on my normal body functions. I could feel the nerves on my temple pulsating hard causing more discomfort. I rubbed my temples with first two fingers with a considerable force so that I could ease the pain, but it isn't helpful at all. Maybe I should have a hot coffee and take a small break from looking onto the screen of the monitor.

I stood up from my chair as I smiled tiredly at Daeun and made my way towards the coffee counter.
While I was waiting for the hot browny liquid to fill my cup, my phone dinged at the notification.

Holding my cup with one hand, I unlocked the phone with the other and checked the message only to see the text from my best friend Taehyung. I couldn't help but smile at his message as it said,

'Yo Nayna!
Hope you're doing fine... I know that it's quite rude of me to text you instead of calling, but my impatient ass wanted to send you the message right now because finally, I have planned for a private reunion at my resort and you are invited. Well I know it's quite formal and inviting you? Duh! So I take back my words... You must be there without any fail and that's a fucking order.
