Chapter 12: Submission

[Mei's PoV]

It was almost uncanny to look at how much Y/n's face had changed with her sudden shift in attitude after giving the Herrscher complete control of her body.

This was no longer the same person that I had been spending time with moments before since this was now the Herrscher of Dominance who was firmly in control of herself and of Y/n's body as well.

"Hahaha... HAHAHA! ALL MUST OBEY!"

The Herrscher of Dominance spoke proudly as all of the honkai beasts stopped on its tracks.

Something is restricting me to use the Herrscher of Thunder's true potential in this room yet I could see the power of the Herrscher of Dominance seep from every pore of Y/n's body as the beasts all halted what they were doing up until now and obeyed her with blind obedience.

The sheer power in her presence was truly unmatched, even I was stunned at just how easily she was able to control the beast that had been wreaking havoc in the area only moments ago.

"Now kill yourself! KILL ONE ANOTHER!"

There I see the beasts immediately obey her command as they suddenly turned on themselves, fighting one another in a wild frenzy.

They were killing one another without even stopping to think of the consequences that it would have on the remaining beast that were left alive. It was a complete rampage that was triggered as her words began to send all of them into a frenzied state where they simply stopped thinking about logic and acted only on their most base instincts.

The scene unfolding right now was practically a massacre of beasts attacking either themselves or one another as she continued to command them to do so.

Even I couldn't help but watch in both admiration and terror at just how strong her authority was. The power and strength of a Herrscher that was currently being fully put to use right now in the room was almost hard to believe in.

At that moment, she turned her attention to me.

"Now, dear Mei... All we have to do is to stay here and watch this beautiful scenery unfold~"

"Beautiful scenery...?" I asked her in confusion.

There was no hint of admiration in my voice as I question her. In fact, I seemed more conflicted as I saw the sheer madness that the beasts were unleashing upon one another now that she had the power to control their actions and force them to perform her orders. I was quite unsure as to what I was supposed to say about the sight of such destruction that occurred around us.

She just laughed smugly before placing both of her hands on my tense shoulders from my back.

"Do you expect something else? You should know when to appreciate such beauty even as the Herrscher of Thunder."

"Beauty...? This is... nothing but pure and utter destruction..." I said in disappointment.

It was something that I never truly liked to witness, and the fact that a fellow Herrscher was actually encouraging me to appreciate such scenes of utter carnage seemed so... wrong somehow in my sense.

"Perhaps you're missing my point. The beauty that I saw in them was simply their submission to me."

Tch, this woman is certainly dangerous, but... I can't resist believing her words. How on earth...

She just laughed before whispering to my ear and grabbed my chin to forcedly looked at her.

"Now, don't you find it quite attractive to see someone submit to you completely?"

"...."

Her tone of voice and feature... is clearly still Y/n but her comment about submission was a bit uncomfortable for me as I try to pull away from her grasp. Then again, it was still Y/n's body which she had complete control over, so I felt myself unable to move when she held down my chin firmly.

Although after a while, she eventually let go of me with a chuckle and stepped forward towards the beasts.

"Now then, I already have enough speculations."

Within a snapped of her fingers, the beasts all turn into piles of nothing but ashes and debris which eliminated any trace of them in the area.

The Herrscher then hummed to herself before she collapsed.

"Captain..!"

Since Y/n's body was still injured before she took control, perhaps she had no energy left in order for her to keep up her possession over Y/n's body and luckily I was quick enough to catch her before she fell down unconscious.

The battle was over as Y/n's body finally went back to normal now that the Herrscher had no need to possess it anymore, but... the body in front of me now was a different matter... It was still injured and in dire need of proper healing with several bandages still over her and injuries that are not fully healed yet.

*Bang!*

I immediately looked up when I heard the door open forcedly and saw the rest of the Valkyries who was rushing into the room. I was about to try to explain to them what had just previously happened and to try and get their help for Y/n, but I shut my mouth when Durandal and the others suddenly froze in place, shocked at the sight of Y/n's injured body in my arms and decided to keep it formal.

"...Please return the Captain to HQ for further treatment." I requested.

Durandal just nodded in silence, not bothering asking a single question of what happened and immediately carried Y/n back that was followed with the rest of the team as I was left with Seele and Bronya.

I turned my attention towards them as the two of them were also seemingly quite shocked at the condition that Y/n's body was in. I could see the worry and concern in both of their eyes right now as they looked over at me.

"Bronya felt worried for Captain. Bronya also talked things through with Seele as well and decided to stay at St. Freya."

...I Figured...

This was not a shocking matter to me but I'm still quite surprised to hear it since I wasn't expecting Bronya to be so quick to return to St. Freya. However, I nodded my head since I understood her decision.

"If that's what you wish, then take care of the Captain while I'm away, alright?"

Bronya and Seele nodded in response to me while we had already come to terms with the fact that this was how things were going to go for now.

"We will... Just make sure to take care of yourself out there, Mei."

I nodded slightly before leaving the facility. It was a short walk for me and I didn't delay my pace as I headed back. I had already finished the mission that was given to me and Y/n was now currently receiving medical attention. I had no more reason to stay in that facility and thus would to return to World Serpent for now.
