Chapter 5: Taunt

[Y/n's PoV]

I began to drift into a mysterious realm as if it were a dream- but this place certainly didn't feel like a dream... The surroundings around me was a bit difficult to clearly see- all I could make out was a very bright, white light.

It was gentle enough to make it comfortable for me to remain in this place. Though, my mind felt a bit clouded, making it difficult to think straight. However, that atmosphere didn't last long.

"Yahoo~!"

The sudden shout caught me off guard and I immediately started to look around the bright area with wide, confused eyes as I tried to see who had just spoken to me.

"Ah, it's you... Herrscher of Dominance..."

She nodded almost enthusiastically.

"How quick of you to recognize me so soon, Captain. Though, it's a bit disappointing that you gave in so easily... I thought you would put up a better fight against me."

Her voice... Looks like she was back to being very teasing again.

"So, this is one of your realms, I assume?"

She let out another laugh as if I guessed it correctly.

"Yep, you must be smarter than I thought if you could realize that so fast... though I suppose that's to be expected; as a Captain, you have to be pretty smart yourself, don't you?"

I only rolled my eyes as her eyes narrowed in irritation.

"You know... you're quite a hard person to have fun with, aren't you? You aren't really engaging all that much, and it's making this process a bit boring on my end..."

"What do you even expect from me?" I sneered.

"I expect you to be a bit more... cooperative? After all, you're the one who is in 'my' realm, so you should abide by my rules."

"Yet, I think you're just content with letting me mess with you however I like... don't you? After all. Now that your body is connected to my being, I guess this is now 'our' realm. For a Captain of Schicksal, you're really not being very assertive here. I don't know how someone like you handles being in this situation..."

She seems to enjoy getting under my skin more than earlier as though she was deliberately trying to get a reaction out of me by looking down on me like some sort of bug.

"Well? Don't just sit there and be quiet! You're my vessel now, so don't you think you should start actually listening to me?"

"So annoying..." I sighed and just sat down and closed my eyes to meditate.

"Oh? I guess you're just going to try and ignore me, huh? Maybe I should just rip away your consciousness completely- then, you can be a real good vessel for me to posses."

It was hard to tell if she was serious about that threat or not, but it definitely was a big possibility. I could feel she was watching me intently right now, and seemed to be getting quite impatient with me.

"Do you have a name?" I asked her while I continued to meditate.

She stayed silent for a moment. Did I manage to surprise her somehow? Despite that, I would still ask despite being in this predicament.

"...You're really quite cheeky, aren't you? Usually I make my subjects beg for their lives before I answer that question. Yet, here you are asking it like you're the one in control..."

"Fine... let me humor you by answering your question. You can just call me Domi- as in Dominion."

"Oh? Okay then, Dummy..."
