(18+) Special Chapter: Teach Me

Within St. Freya academy, a couple years had passed. Both me and Mei were still working within Schicksal, but there were now a few notable changes.

Mei had now taken over the role of being a teacher within the school, teaching younger and more inexperienced Valkyries how to properly wield their weapons and all. I, on the other hand, was still the Schicksal Captain.

Our schedules had never been in our favor— we always had separate work duties and responsibilities to fulfill which prevented us from seeing each other as often as we like.

It was not unusual for us to go days and even weeks without seeing each other, sometimes even being unable to speak to each other due to the lack of time to do so.

"Is everything in order?" I asked the staff at one of our facilities.

"Everything should be in order Captain." One of the engineers reported.

"We did a full evaluation and examination of the machines and equipment. There appears to be no major faults or anything of significance."

I nodded, "Good. You may leave now."

"Understood Captain." The engineer replied as they saluted and dismissed themselves, leaving me alone within the facility.

Hmm...

There didn't appear to be anything else in the facility that needed my attention. All the staff had already done a full evaluation on everything beforehand and my personal inspection did not reveal anything amiss.

I glanced at my watch, checking my time and noting that it was noon. While I still had some things left that I could do within Schicksal, there was actually some time to spare before my next scheduled meeting.

"I wonder..." I muttered to myself as an idea suddenly came to me.

Perhaps... I could visit the school? There was a chance that Mei would be taking a break from her duties as a teacher. If my luck was good today, I might be able to see her for just a little bit.

With that in mind, I exited the HQ and began heading to the familiar path to St. Freya.

It's been quite a while since I last visited, but even without being here for a long time, it still felt familiar and a sense of nostalgia started to build up within me as I walked alone towards the front gate.

It didn't take me long to find her current classroom. The halls of St. Freya were still the same since last time, and I had a good idea of where my destination was.

I stopped at the door that marked her classroom and lightly knocked on it, announcing my arrival.

"Come in."

Those two words in Mei's soft, familiar voice came from the other side of the door allowing me to open the door and step into the classroom as I walked inside.

"Sorry for disturbing your class–" I began, before stopping when I realized that the class was devoid of any students whatsoever.

"Captain..?" She said, her voice having a hint of surprise and curiousity in it.

"I wasn't expecting you here."

"Shouldn't you be busy at the HQ?" She added, a small smile appearing on her face when she saw me.

However I crossed my arms and playfully rolled my eyes.

"You're indicating as if I'm still that human machine you keep mentioning a few years back. Besides, I have a lot of time left before my next schedule, so of course I went to visit here just to see my lover."
